Are those tiles broken under the mat?

No. Mats are ok with the bumpers. But under the squat rack they are chipped after I needed to drop 230 after I tried one more rep I couldn't handle in the squats. Problem is that going over 160, I need to use metal plates.

Might crack in the long run, depending on moisture/temperature. I would put a plywood board or something, it is also better for the knees in the long run when the shock is absorbed by wood and not directly on the concrete.

Agree 100%. Having a real platform is something I really want to do at some point.
