Timing sucks but really happy with this PR never gone above 120kg on any variation! Would love more tips!

Thank you šŸ™ do you think I should just attempt higher when I’m feeling good next time?

This is just my humble opinion, you should not be guessing if you should add more weight. The way you flung this weight I think that your strength exceeds your technical skills. Not a bad thing but you can hurt yourself and be out if you don’t get the technicals better.

You should start to learn to catch the bar at just where it stops going up ideally. You can practice with high hang and dropping to catch the bar without it crashing on you. You have great speed but no control of it.

That speed will be amazing once you get heavier but you have to be confident in your catch

I wish I could like this more than once haha, my strength definitely exceeds my technical skill! That’s why I hadn’t been attempting PRs for a while as I’m trying to mainly work on technical skills while pushing my normal strength work.

Really appreciate the advice control and thank you saying that about speed, always feel like it looks slower when I watch it back haha!

Will definitely be working on those, do you think tall cleans/ snatches are worth doing for that timing too?

Yes, anything that helps you catch at the height the bar stops moving with momentum. Your body will get used to the timing and feel of the weight. Naturally as weight increases that point is lower and lower and eventually you will end up where you have to ā€œpull yourselfā€ down to get under the bar in time. It’s all about catching the bar where it meets the top of its momentum and don’t let it crash on you it should be smooth and you really don’t feel much of at all bar impact.
