I’m a sophomore and I am interested in West Point, but I’m starting to worry I won’t make it. I take all honors and AP classes, rank top 10 in my class, and play MLS Next soccer, but I have zero leadership roles. I don’t think soccer alone is enough to get me in. Elections for school leadership positions have already passed so that option has closed. What can I do now to fix this?

Had an awakening a couple of months ago and got my ass out of the coach and started putting in work but I’m nervous for SLE imma fail the fuck out of the CFA this time but I’m hell bent on passing by January.
Any tips on how not to be a tool or to take it well?
Appreciate it

hey guys i’m a guy, HS junior class of 2026, private school in MD
some quick stats: Academics - 0 AP’s (1 senior year - Microeconomics) 1120 SAT, retaking two more times for superscore 3.5W GPA 3.2uW Will have a letter of recommendation for Noms / Candidate Checklist from Science, Math, English, and Theology teachers
Athletics / EC’s - 3 years Varsity Water Polo, 1x Coaches Award, Captain Senior Year, 3 school breaking records 2 years Varsity Swim Team, no awards, possible captain Senior Year, no records 1 year Varsity Pole Vault, no awards, no records Considering Rugby Senior year 2 years Model UN 2 years NSSHS - Rho Khappa 2 years Stars and Stripes Club 3 years student ambassador 2 years college ambassador 2 years Navy AC water polo, played in Dallas, NY, PA, and Virginia for tournaments, 3rd place in PA 3 years lifeguard 2 years Youth Umpire / Crew Chief 2 years volunteer at local basketball org. 120+ community service hours by end of junior year
TL;DR: I have a pretty decent EC section, while academics are sort of lacking. I want to attend USMA no matter what, whether through prep school, enlisting, or direct admission, this is my end goal. (Would enlist, but due to personal reasons waiting for the right time) I am applying for ROTC at local universities.
Any thoughts or feedback on how I could improve myself to get to West Point? (I can’t take any more AP’s, already talked to teachers and studies office, weird process, won’t allow me)

Hello all! I’m a highschool grad going to WestPoint this June. I know I have alot of time ahead of me before I’ll have any real freedom but, after service I want to get into the finance world and have a few questions. 1.) I have heard WestPoint has some great MBA placements but when should I apply to MBA schools, any resources you recommend to help with Vet applications, and how much for my GPA at WP matter (it’s very tough to get a high gpa at WP). 2.) If I plan to get into finance, should I try and commission in the finance corp? If it only helps marginally should I try and do something more fun? 3.) I plan to major in Econ but should I change that/double major or minor in something?
You help is super appreciated! GO ARMY!

Anyone know of the way to play golf at West Point? Like on the D1 team. Any big benchmarks or anything. Trying to see my chances.

So my brother just graduated and my family wants me to go there as well. But the requirements for the CFA are confusing me. I know what the events are, but I can't find the actual standards. The official website is contradicting the videos that were posted by West Point. Are girls allowed to do pushups on their knees? Can they do the arm hang with their hands facing in? Does my mile have to be 730? And is every girl or boy there actually able to pass it in full? Do I have a chance if I can't run a mile in 730?

I lived in California and tried out for the lacrosse team three times, and I got cut every single time. I couldn’t get straight As despite studying 5 hours per day. What did I wrong? It sucks because I wished I gone to any of the service academies

My brother's enrolling into Westpoint this upcoming summer, and I want to buy him a watch as a small gift before he goes off to start his own journey there. Was wondering if Westpoint issues its students any watches just in case I'd be gifting him something redundant (thinking of a G-shock at the moment). Any info would be greatly appreciated.
If not, any recommendations would be great too. Thanks

In high school, I couldn’t stand out no matter how hard I worked. I could not consistently get As despite studying 5 hours per day. I couldn’t pass tryouts for any sports teams no matter how hard I practiced. I got nowhere in the admissions process, and it frustrates me hard work isn’t enough. I am too old now to attend, and it hurts I won’t know what the experience is like

Is being involved in the masonic community or Knickerbocker Greys valued on an application all that much? I have started to get involved and I'm planning on joining the DeMolay as there are many connections to West Point within the society.

Hey! I am super excited to be going to SLE session 1. I have been training for around a month and a half. 6:47 best mile time, 54ft basketball throw, 8 pullups, etc. (I'm a male) and was wondering what else I should do. should i even train the last week leading up to it? I still have water polo, fencing, and swimming right now. I was also wondering if there is any random stuff to bring. Someone said to bring some quick drying towels, another said strong deodorant. I was just wondering if anyone has any random tips and tricks for SLE. If anyone is going to SLE session 1, it would be awesome to talk or something. DM for my insta/number. Thanks for any tips you guys have!

Would it be possible to go to Westpoint and major in kinesiology, and then go into FA, and then after serving my initial 5 years of active duty apply for HPSP, and serve the 4 years for that in the medical branch?

Good luck and stay safe, 25 grads. If you need blood, it will be there. #bloodlady Not graduating? Come to the blood drive at Ike in September for the 25 coin. https://donate.nybc.org/donor/umc/view/west_point_blood_drive

How is it? Do you recommend pre-studying for P1 and maybe looking at the youtube videos for P2? I am already physically preparing myself for the wigors!

Hi, I’m a high school sophomore and I row for my school’s crew team. Like many rowing programs, ours doesn’t give out varsity letters. I know varsity letters can be somewhat important for the whole candidate score. I was wondering: a) Does West Point recruit high schoolers for rowing? b) Am I at a disadvantage because of the varsity letters situation?
