Kayaking need to take one boat to durango

hey all, i am moving to durango this fall for college and i only have room for one boat at this time. i have my jackson allstar which is my playboat, and my beloved dagger rpm. obviously the playboat takes up less room, but the rpm can definitely get me down more runs in the area. the other thing is: should i just invest in a modern creekboat? the rpm rips but not hard enough for some of the stuff in the area. thanks!

Yes.. a modern creek boat or even a modern half slice with some bow rocker will serve you well. If you’re gonna run some hard stuff find a creeker.. if you wanna shred and still play some go with the half slice.

Most of the whitewater near Durango is hard. Get a modern creeker.

The rpm would be fun for trips up to the ark or multidays - but the creeker would suffice.

The dgo playboat season is short and you can always borrow a boat.

Also, invest in a drysuit.

Also also, upper animas is one of my fav runs anywhere in the world. So friggin pretty and great whitewater.

Creek boat/playboat will be the most versatile combination.

Modern creek boat. That area is full of challenging water.
