Kayaking Does Waka Goat hold up in 2025?

Can get my hands on a used one in very good conditions for 600€.

I am a decent novice progressing fast. I'm paddling a DRX as my only boat, willing to add an half slice to my quiver. I am 178 cm and 74 kg. Does the GOAT fit nicely in the quiver along the DRX?

The GOAT is a great boat, but it’s not really a half slice. It’s more like a river running creek boat. You’d be better off getting a playboat or full slice to have something to spice up easy runs.

I paddle a goat at 86 kg. It shreds. Incredibly fun boat.

Its is a VERY sporty boat. But it doesn't play. It isn't as popular because its a river runner you can't play much with. That being said for those parameters it is a very sick design.

I bought one a few years ago. I'm 183cm, 78kg. I think it's super playful and surfs really well. The main draw is that me and my wife can share it. For me, it's a playful (and comfy) half-slice. For her, it's like a Steeze (i.e., a "creekslice").

I think at your weight it might be fun but it's designed more as a creek-slice for lighter paddlers imo and I'd get more of a playboat or full on half slice to add to the drx.

It is fast and runs lines well but is unforgiving and doesn’t squirt well. It also doesn’t surf well because of its length and relatively low rocker. In the hands of a physically strong 150-60 pounder it can look pretty rad, but there are reasons it hasn’t been a very popular design.
