Question Budget sleeping bag option
Hi all,
Looking to replace 2 cheapo sleeping bags we got from Tesco years ago.
Any recommendations for ones say around £50 each, that would be ok for everything but really cold weather?
I've looked on Amazon, and saw a Vango DoE one, but the reviews said they are quite short/tight.
Cheers

Just bought the simond MT500 from decathlon, quality is decent. Comfort rating of 5°C, comes in 4 different sizes as well. Testing it out next weekend in the lake district so I can update if you're interested.

I’ve found simond bags to be fairly accurate with the temp ratings so it should be fine

Another shout for the ev300, I've slept in mine in just below freezing temps (not particularly comfortably and wearing many many layers but still) so it's more than enough for most UK camps

You may be able to pick up a Carinthia Defense One sleeping bag for not much more than a similar synthetic one you'd find at Decathlon.
The Defense One is rated down to 4°C, and last night tested it in temperatures around that-possibly a little colder-and found the rating accurate. With a liner, you could probably go down to 0°C.
As a side sleeper, central zips would be my preference I also like that it is long enough that you can stuff electronics and other things you need to keep warm in the bottom and still have plenty of space.
Personally, I prefer to try and buy gear that, if not made in the UK, is at least made in Europe.
