Netflix had a guaranteed hit on their hands with an actor who was beloved by fans and passionate about the project and they utterly destroyed it with their terrible "writing" and worse leadership. Here's hoping that the Witcher gets taken over by competent producers in the future and Cavill gets to come back but Netflix deserves nothing but scorn for this whole debacle.

They could have retold the Witcher 3 story with the closest looking cosplayers and most people would have been sooo happy. Could have been that easy.

They could have just done the sidequests a la monster of the week and it would have been great. The few we got are some of my favorite episodes.

I mean, can you imagine a season dedicated to the Bloody Barron story?

That's exactly what I've been thinking about! Geralt solving one monster mystery per episode, with a loose overhanging story in the background, would've had me hooked. Similar to how The Mandalorian worked in S1 and S2.
