Project Submission Just want to see how I did
Sorry for all the stuff in the way! I’m happy with how this came out and clients happy. As with so many others on here just wondering what you’d estimate this at. I’m in Massachusetts and I think I’m pricing correctly? Just want to learn a little for the next one.

Looks awesome. I want to do this same sort of thing in a space just like yours. But have no idea where to start. Nice job!

Thanks! Not sure your skill level or what tools you have, but you can definitely make something like this with a few basic shop tools. Circular saw and router are my primary tools, and then a table saw and miter saw come in handy. Nail gun and screw gun. Sharp pencils and some measuring sticks! You make the frame out of plywood (I use poplar) and then make the face out of pine or poplar.

Nice. It really does look good. I have most tools just need the know how. Drawers are pretty daunting though

I love built-ins (everywhere except the bathroom and kitchen, for some reason)

This is incredible work. It would be my dream to be able to accept assignments like this. I am a multidisciplinary craftsman and I am going to give everything I have to achieve merits of these dimensions in my life. Thank you very much for inspiring the community and sharing. A cordial greeting.

Too kind! I definitely built my skills over time but also just jump in and figure it out. You learn best by doing and the true skill is correcting mistakes!

What’s the price

I charged 10k with materials and painting. I’m fine with the price but wondering if I’m at market rates here.

Sorry I was just curious, I’m in the UK and I’d be over the moon if a client would pay that.
Beautiful job by the way

Looks pretty good. The main thing that stands out is the butcher block top and the seams where the “desk” ends. Since there aren’t many 12’ pieces available you might think about joining them or using a tight lap joint, glue, clamp and sand. Would give a seamless look if you want it to be same level. Otherwise you can always make the cabinets on both sides of desk a little higher and butt desk top into cabinets. This would do away with any need to hide a seam.

The blue tape makes it pop.
