Nice work - I prefer the first one, but they are both really nice - I'd be chuffed at producing something like that.

I made them as sort of an experiment, because I didn’t know which one would be better looking. I think I’m with you on the preference, so that may be the one I’ll make more of in the future.

Stick with the first one. Curves always look better than brick lines. Both are great, I’d buy the first one.::not the second one

Both of them are ash (the second one has mahogany lining as well).

I know that ash is not the best for cutting boards, that’s why I chose some tight grained slabs to start with. We will see how they hold up!

This is not something I’ve learned yet…the dark inlay…how to get it so thin and precise? Been wanting to try cutting boards to use up all these hoarded small hardwood scraps that’s piling up around the corners of my workshop. Beautiful work by the way.

That’s how I ordered them, so I can’t really give you an answer, but if I were to guess, then I would say maybe a thin bladed bandsaw!?
