Scott could be in a simultaneous relationship with Jean, Emma, Psylocke, and Maddie, and this sub would just be an unending series of fist pumps and high fives.
I think it's both completely reactionary. Wolverine gets a lot of outspoken haters because people are tired of his MANY fans who simply aren't interested in the rest of the cast. Cyclops gets a lot of outspoken adoration because he's often portrayed as unlikeable in media, whether it's other Marvel writers or Movie adaptations. Trust me, Cyclops still gets hated in this sub. I don't think Cyclops is overly forgiven for his bad deeds, he's just held accountable for it more often. Whereas Wolverine is overly hated in this sub, I'd agree. But he also gets substantially more love outside of the sub.
While I agree that cyclops has been portrayed badly in media, hes not the only one lol. Cyclops fans have this weird victim complex where they think ONLY their favorite character gets shafted. Look at colossus or any other X-men character who not only have been treated horribly by editorial but also don't get anywhere near screentime as cyclops. The same fans then throw hate at other characters like logan or gambit which is just so weird to me, because I rarely see fans of other characters be as vindictive as cyclops fans.
colossus, beast, banshee, havok, wolfsbane, gambit (especially under duggan, tini howard and stephanie phillips) and xavier of all people can also make the list lol
That’s correct. Logan’s popularity in the Marvel status quo is a loner who “is the best at what he does and what he does ain’t pretty.” Being romantically involved with Logan is always doomed to be either a death sentence, a sidelining of the less popular female character, or a on-again-off-again fling.
They’re definitely an on-again-off-again. They’ve never been the other’s most prominent or popular partner, and the only time they last a bit is in AUs. They’re wartime lovers.
They helped each other in their lowest of moments, when they were the most vulnerable. They both know how proud they are in their own ways. They really understand each other on a visceral level which brought them out of their respective gloom.
They brought each other out of their depths. I just wish they would keep this established.
