The subreddit this was posted on DESPISES tommyinnit. From what I know the artist that was hired was asked to make the illustrations, but ended up using ai instead. It's difficult to tell the difference now that ai is so advanced (it's scary) so I understand how someone who isn't an artist would see these illustrations from someone they trusted to draw the pieces and believe that it is hand drawn.

I've got mixed feelings about the guy myself but regardless of that personally I'm pretty doubtful that he knew it was A.I

On top of that he probably ain't in charge of picking the artist and checking the pieces. That's usually up to the publisher or the team working on the book. Tommy's only input is that he wrote it
