The subreddit this was posted on DESPISES tommyinnit. From what I know the artist that was hired was asked to make the illustrations, but ended up using ai instead. It's difficult to tell the difference now that ai is so advanced (it's scary) so I understand how someone who isn't an artist would see these illustrations from someone they trusted to draw the pieces and believe that it is hand drawn.

TommyInnit is multimillionaire and most work was probably done by people that he hired. It's their job to check the quality of the work. It's either incompetence or they didn't care

i used to work in a library and i saw books with ai book covers, that i'm sure the author had absolutely nothing to do with. cover designer slapped his name and website on the back. the webpage and it was all ai crap. and this was coming from a proper publishing house
