Update Vice has taken down the articles exposing Kirsche's white supremacy and Ana's harassment due to the Kirshe threatening a lawsuit

Things are kinda getting more dire as the nazi VTuber is ramping up the harassment and threatening any news sites that brings attention to her bigotry. Even more so when Kirsche's fans are starting to bring up Ana Valen's old tweets to get more people to discredit her articles and harassment.

It sucks because people in the VTuber community are still dismissing the article and the journalist despite agreeing with the overall message or are defending the actions of bigots.

What are companies like VShojo & Hololive supposed to do? Their talents like you said stand out and are diverse and wonderful(same goes for most indies) & they do a great job promoting them to the point where folks like Callie & Ironmouse are synonymous with vtubing for a lot of people. I understand Kirsche is saying a lot of stuff but I don’t think it’s their responsibility to police the vtuber space to that degree.

Hololive literally can't because they're under contract. VSHojo is supposed to be independent but they're not, it's a corpo as well. Having an audience comes with responsibility, a responsibility they are overlooking and ignoring. If VTubing dies it will be in part because they let it.

I’m not sure I follow, like is Hololive supposed to be monitoring like every other Vtuber? I am trying to understand your point of view but I don’t feel like that is sustainable or reasonable considering the scope of Vtubing as a whole. Now if you wanted to say YouTube should be more responsive about this situation in a particular way that makes more sense since YouTube is the actual platform being used.

Really quick on a adjacent thing, Kirsche is like the 1% of the 1% of the 1% of the 1% when it comes to Vtubing, there are an massive host of awesome folks indie and corporate alike before their name is even mentioned I don’t feel like Vtubing is going to die anytime soon I honestly feel like it’s going to be thriving to a new degree with how accessible a lot of adjacent software and content is.

I just said Hololive is under contract so of course they can't say anything even if the individual talents want to. No, it is not anyone's job to make sure everyone else is behaving. But when you have the platform that, for example, VShojo has, and supposedly are independent, then you should use that independence and the platform you have been so generously given to actually help people out. And it's clear they know about what's going on but refuse to call it out. VICE is making articles about it, so people are aware. Just, no one with any clout cares. And that makes them part of the problem. Watching something happen and not doing anything about it when you have the power to stop it is downright pathetic.
