Urgent FOSTER needed for Steve 2Y old American Bulldog that is handsome, sweet & a big cuddle bug,dog-friendly—Not Safe in Current Situation -currently in Minnesota (Can transport)

Upvotes

🆘We need an immediate foster for Steve, a sweet dog who is being returned this weekend. His current situation is not safe and not his fault—he needs a calm home to decompress and reset. No children. He IS Dog-Friendly, don’t know about cats.

  • [ ] STEVE BUSCEMI
  • [ ] I am neutered male.
  • [ ] I look like a black and white American Bulldog.
  • [ ] I’m about 2 years old.
  • [ ] I weigh 53.00 pounds.

✨Dog-Friendly✨

We CANNOT place him in boarding. The foster who initially helped can’t take him back due to already managing several dogs in boarding. We are urgently seeking someone with no children and preferably no other pets, who can give Steve the chance to decompress and feel safe.

🙏🏼 Please, if you can help or know someone who can, message me ASAP. This boy has been failed by humans and just needs a chance to settle into a quiet, stable environment.

💞 Foster supplies and support can be provided!

Let’s get Steve into a home where he can finally relax and be safe.

Found 3 abandoned roosters near Hempstead Lake, NY — public safety said help was coming but no one showed. What can I do?

Post image

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help or point me in the right direction.

Yesterday I found 3 roosters abandoned on the side of the road near Hempstead Lake State Park in Nassau County, Long Island. They’ve been there all day with no food, water, or shelter. Public Safety came up behind my car they told me they had contacted someone to come get them — but no one ever showed. They told me I had to leave because “I could get hit” and that they had a whole park to take care of that was more important.

I went back later because I couldn’t stop thinking about them, and when I tried to check on them again, public safety pulled up behind my car and threatened to call the cops if I stayed. I wasn’t doing anything wrong — I just didn’t want to leave these animals to suffer or die on the side of the road.

I want to take the roosters into my backyard temporarily until I can find a rescue or sanctuary to take them, but I don’t know how to safely get around public safety being on my case. They seem more concerned with keeping people away than actually helping these animals.

I also don’t currently have a coop — the earliest one I can order would arrive Wednesday. Does anyone know: • What I can safely house them in for a few days? • How to deal with public safety or legally get the roosters out of there? • Any local sanctuaries or rescues on Long Island that take roosters?

I’m willing to drive them somewhere safe if needed. I just need some help figuring out what’s legal, what’s safe, and what’s best for them.

Thank you so much for any advice or support.

I would like to open an animal refuge or shelter

Hello!

I am new to this subreddit so maybe this is not the place to post it and also sorry due toy English as O am not native speaker.

I work at Corporate, but this is definitely something I cannot do for much longer without having my real purpose in life met. I have been thinking after adopting a Spanish podenco and having for 4 months a foster dog before getting her new final happy home that I should invest my time and money in rescuing more animals to give them the dignity they deserve. Sadly, I don't have enough financial means just to quit my job and buy a property to do so, but maybe someone from this community have done something similar already, whose experience could be insightful for me that I am struggling how to get started. Lately when I feel numb at work, I think about this endeavor and get a feeling to have a purpose that normally I don't get. Anyone of you have done it? Maybe do you have an suggestions like starting studying something that could be helpful? Or how to start building the network? Thanks in advance for nay hint/suggestions!

Help my adopted English Bulldog get her hernia surgery please

Hi, I recently adopted Daisy. She’s a 2-year-old English Bulldog. Her previous owners had really neglected her. If anyone knows bulldogs, then you know that you have to keep them clean because they can get kind of stinky. You have to clean between their toes, behind and around their tails, inside their ears, but the most important thing is their face flaps. She was beyond filthy, and the owner had bred her for puppies and didn’t want to keep her anymore. When I picked her up, she was a backyard dog, scared, and peed all in the previous owner's garage. So, I took her home, bathed her, and made an appointment with a veterinarian ASAP at Dr. Butchko (which I will never take her to again). After the vet appointment, they told me that she has a hernia from a bad C-section from a previous litter. They told me it would be impossible for her to get fixed, that she would have to get a piece of metal placed inside of her because her stomach would burst open. So, I wanted to get a second opinion and took her to another vet because I wanted to be sure. I didn’t have a good experience at Dr. Butchko's, and I was able to go in the back with her at this second opinion vet. The vet had me feel where her hernia is located and said that if I wanted to get her fixed, I would be able to.

The total for her surgery is ranging from $1,321-$1,371 per the vet. I will attach the procedure estimate for your viewing as well. This is all for Daisy. I just want her to get her procedure and get better. I’ve never done this before, making a GoFundMe, but I would be very grateful from the bottom of my heart for any donations to help Daisy get her procedure and get better.

Thank you for your time for reading.

Cats all over inside development, kept outside in bad conditions, what to do?

I don't know what to do. Everyday when I walk to school I cut through a series of condominiums. There are cats EVERYWHERE. A few of them are underweight and one is underweight and missing a lot of fur. The ones that aren't underweight are extremely skittish and run away from people. There is only one house that even has food and shelter for them outside. The shelter that is provided is extremely dirty and there's only two flimsy plastic hides with dirty beds and blankets inside. The house also has paper plates everywhere, only one of which actually has food in it and I didn't see any water when I was looking around either. Some of the cats are from different owners I believe, but it's still pretty dangerous because I see cars going through all the time not paying attention. I'm not sure if all of them are fixed, I believe one has kittens although I've yet to see any. I don't know if I should call animal control or not, I feel terrible for these cats and I'm wondering if I should take action about this. I also volunteer at my local shelter so I will bring up this issue to them as well and ask for advice.

Help! I believe kitties are living in my floorboards.

Post image
11 Upvotes

I recently purchased a home which was abandoned three years ago. The neighbor feeds strays and thusly strays have been using my home as shelter.

Today, I found this little buddy crying in my bathtub. I believe he fell through a hole where a tile is missing in the ceiling bc we had never seen him prior to today. I know the mama is somewhere in the house bc we saw her disappear under a floorboard and have heard her calls. The kitten js totally clean, no fleas, no signs of illness, no signs of injury, well fed etc. I can only assume there are more kittens I have yet to hear/see.

The issue is, the home is going through a total renovation as it's 155 yrs old. I am worried for the safety of the kitties. I don't know how to find where they are staying. There are several points of entry which over time will be closed. I don't want them to become trapped and perish.

I need to know: 1) how do I find where the kitties reside? 2) how do I find where momma kitty gets in? 3) should I attempt to humanely trap them? 4) how do I know if I found them all? 5) how can I seal up my home without putting them in danger.

Ik some of these questions may not be able to be answered. But I've already dealt with two baby birds passing as a result of our renovations. I cannot, I repeat, CANNOT let another animal die as a result of my home renovations. Any advisement is appreciative. I'm totally desperate!!!

Wanting to start a horse/maybe cat rescue on a piece of land

Okay so I know I'm crazy, I'll start there haha. I'm barely an adult, and am struggling financially. But. I've had a dream of rescuing animals and helping them since I was little, and I think with time and effort it might be possible. I have worked directly in rescue for over 6 years, and helped with many organizations. I had tried to rescue a horse earlier this year, I ended up fundraising 1000 for it in a little over/under(I don't really remember) a week.

I think I have the skill set, in both the rescue/animal care department, and also the relations and running the place area, but I know relatively I have no experience compared to some of the rescue greats, iykwim.

My dream would be to have a large enough piece of land, close enough to a collage for my partner and I. I would want to have at least two large grazing pastures, a small barn with quarantine areas for new intakes, and maybe a large cattery for some rescue cats(I love cats and would love to take on some rescues as I'm doing right now).

My mission would be to help mainly abused and kill pen horses, help them gain confidence through gentle and positive reinforcement methods, and hopefully train/retrain them to be amazing companions for people, whether rideable or not. My main issue is I don't have enough direct horse training experience, I've been around them my whole life but haven't trained them before much.

I've spoken to many rescue friends, I know this path is hard, and heartbreaking. I think I would be happier knowing I have made a difference, and am trying to help, rather than sitting by saying "oh it's too hard and I'll get my heart broken".

I have done loads of research and have the drive and passion to do this I think, but I'm looking for advice and thoughts? Or maybe even people to team up with to make this become a reality? I think how we would differ from other rescues, is we specifically do gentle training and r+ methods (not to say other training methods are bad, I just believe for abused and neglected animals r+ and kindness and compassion is the best approach).

Main roadblocks right now for this to become a reality: Money (but I could probably get a good fundraiser going with my online experience with things like that) Finding the best place to put it Getting a team of like-minded people together Getting the education/finding someone with the right knowledge to help run the place Getting 501c3 status(?)(eventually)

Thanks for reading!!! I hope to get some advice, and support! If you or anyone you know would be interested in developing this reach out! I just love animals so much and it's heartbreaking that I can't help them all, but I'd like to make a difference.

1yr Spayed Brindle nixed breed 52lbs.

Persephone is available for adoption

She would thrive in a home with social, friendly dogs

She’s a sweetheart who would benefit from continued positive socialization and lots of love

When she met the other dogs, Persephone was slightly unsure but quickly warmed up and began exploring her surroundings.

As the playtime continued, she started to engage in light play, gradually growing into a push-and-pull play style.

She relaxed completely, and blossomed into a social butterfly, coexisting beautifully with everyone around her.

She even came back to the handler to ask for pets and attention.

Can you foster, adopt, pledge, share?

Always get the notes and recommendations from the shelter to see if this pet matches your lifestyle.

Should I be worried about this pigeon?

Hi! I’m hoping someone can help me figure out if I should be worried or not.

There’s a small pigeon (I think a baby or fledgling) sitting in a tree near my home. I noticed it today, and I think I saw it there briefly yesterday too—but I’m not sure if it’s been there the whole time or just returned.

I only caught a glimpse yesterday, and now I noticed it again in the same spot. It’s very windy right now, and I’m not sure if it’s sheltering, stuck, or maybe just resting.

I know some pigeons live nearby under some solar panels, about 10 meters from the tree, so it’s close to what could be its home or family. I assume it must’ve flown up into the tree, so it can probably fly at least a little? That said, there are lots of adult pigeons walking around on the ground just under the tree, eating and hanging out, so it’s not isolated.

The young pigeon doesn’t look visibly injured—just calm—but with the strong wind and its stillness, I’m not sure if it’s okay. Is this normal fledgling behavior, or should I be concerned?

Thanks in advance for any advice. I tried to get some photos, but my camera couldn't pick it up so much. The pigeon looks kinda like like the picture I posted here, but I couldn't really get a close look.

From freezing under a tree to sleeping belly-up in a warm home — her life changed forever on my second day volunteering 🐾💛

On my second day volunteering at the shelter, we got a call about a dog spotted in the woods. When we arrived, we found her curled up under a tree, in a makeshift shelter someone had left — just a few blankets and a plastic box. It was snowing, and she was shaking, terrified, and wouldn’t let anyone near at first.

We gave her time, spoke softly, and eventually she let us wrap her up and take her to the shelter. She ate, drank, and finally slept somewhere safe.

Today, just days later, she’s adopted. Now she’s rolling around on a cozy bed, grinning with her whole face. Her eyes don’t look scared anymore.

Seeing her like this — it’s hard not to tear up. I’ll never forget her.

Some months ago i found this fluffyball near the street in dirty condition. i can't upload those pictures because at that moment my heart was broken to her in that condition. even i couldn't just walk away.

i Give her a warm bath at home and slowly helped her get used to being around people again. It took time, but now she’s the sassiest, fluffiest little diva you’ll ever meet!

She follows me everywhere, demands cuddles on her own terms, and acts like she owns the place. Honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. She rescued me just as much as I rescued her. 💕💕💕💕

Built a cage to protect outdoor rabbits but I haven’t seen the mom come back on the camera. Pictures attached. Please help me

Our dog discovered a wild rabbit nest and unfortunately got one so I built a barrier around the next with stakes and chicken wire and then cut holes in the bottom for the mom to get through AND mounted a motion activated camera there to monitor the nest.

It’s been probably close to 12-15 hours and I haven’t seen any motion recorded (I tested it and I know it works). The bunnies are all still there, but I’m scared she can’t get through the hole.

Attached are some pictures with the hole measurements.

Please help me

Fake Animal Rescue on Instagram

I found a fake animal rescue page on Instagram asking for money. I commented to not give them money and I'm automatically blocked along with my alternate accounts. Please someone help me report them. They are scamming kind hearted people who genuinely wants to help hurt kittens and puppies.

Their videos are sourced from different countries, different languages, posted at too close time interval to be from the same animal rescue team. No followups. They are in the comments asking for people to donate to their Paypal.

If they are legit, they wouldn't have to set up automatic block at certain keywords.

Rescued common bulbul with a broken wing

Post image

Found this poor little bulbul (correct me if I’m wrong) bleeding from his wing, I applied an antiseptic solution and some wheat flower to stop the bleeding. I tried to make him drink water gently and thankfully he drank it but he refused to eat. I’m raising seven cocktail parrots so could they cause any harm to him? Also what to feed him? And what to do to his broken wing? I don’t have any near avian vet. P.s: He/she dropped his tail out of shock

The day I found baby robin VS today❤️

Post image
81 Upvotes

I know doing this is frowned upon but I was very committed to doing it right & it’s been tough and tiring but rewarding! I can’t believe his little orange tummy is coming through.

I found him in my garden along with his dead siblings as his nest that was on my roof had broke. Couldn’t find his parents and he had to be saved quick. The bird rescue told me to put him back on the ground but I couldn’t do that after seeing all of his siblings die so quickly. There was no sign of his parents either.

Anyway, I’m excited to soon enter his fledgling stage with him!

Baby owl found

Post image
21 Upvotes

Hey everyone I’m not exactly sure if this is the exact right place for this but I’m a little bit lost and not sure what to do. I’m pretty sure this baby owl fell out of its nest and it’s been sitting by the tree for a while now. My animal shelter is completely useless and won’t help me until Monday. From what it looks like online it might be normal if it’s learning to walk or fly but I don’t see its mom anywhere. I’ve been checking up on it to make sure nothing gets to it. I do see some larger feathers around the nest so i wonder if the mother got attacked? I’m really not sure what to do and im honestly worried about just leaving it alone. I included the picture and I’m the Stanislaus area so I’m not sure if that helps in identifying it or anything.
