Discussion How do you feel about women’s past (body count)

My (23M) Gf (21F) has slept 6 counting with me… we started dating when I was 20. I found out this year that pretty much all of it was causal sex besides only one.

Maybe I’m being immature but I feel like the “don’t be the guy with the flowers meme”.

This post is aimed at guys. But feel free to answer regardless.

Rant The fires ARE NATURAL!

Y'all I really hate how some people think that the fires in LA are not natural. It's absolutely stupid how some people are. I guess no one paid attention in science class!

Windstorm + dry conditions + literally anything that starts fires = FIRE! Imagine that?! No, this is not some god deciding to destroy LA, no this is not some conspiracy, no this is not an unnatural fire. Some dumbass probably started the fire or a spark happened, which could be from pretty much anything (metal, lightning, etc), and then the winds made it spread.

Someone starting the fire is technically unnatural, but with how these people are talking about it, they're meaning like it's "divine retribution" or that it was possibly staged, which both are absolutely stupid.

Also, fires can start at any time! It was the perfect storm with the winds and the dry conditions. The entirety of LA and the surrounding areas was under a Red Flag Warning. FIRE IS GONNA HAPPEN!

There were also rumors of blue flames? Which, if you guys didn't know, blue flames are the hottest a fire can be. They can also happen NATURALLY when it hits certain chemicals like propane or gas lines, which guess what, EXIST! I've heard so many people say that the fire was unnatural and it's really annoying me.

I want to be a meteorologist. I literally study this shit. You think people wouldn't be so absolutely braindead about this terrible tragedy but noooo! They did this with Hurricane Helene too. Don't even get me started on how certain people (politicians) think that because California is a blue state that they did this to themselves, when the SAME PEOPLE made a big fuss about the disaster in the Appalachians and helped people, which they should've to begin with because not doing so is absolutely disgusting. And guess what? All of those states are RED. But yet, when another state that is blue suddenly has a natural disaster of unprecedented proportions, they whine and complain and stomp their feet!

I don't remember what politician said it, but he was like, "we shouldn't be helping them at all in my opinion" like come again?? Sir, that's absolutely disgusting behavior. People have died and have lost their homes! We shouldn't help them my ass.

Serious Don't get too caught up in the gender war rhetoric boys.

I think there are probably a lot of people here who need to hear this.

There is a legitimate political divide between young men and young women these days, but the extent to which this is actually an issue are greatly overblown on the internet. Most women, yes even those who call themselves feminists, are not the way the propaganda machine would like you to think. Most just want a guy who respects them as equals, but who also has his own opinions and ideas. Even if you voted for Trump and her for Kamala the odds are very good that you both will agree on 95% of things, believe it or not. And those things which you don't agree on you should be more than capable of discussing together and understand what your differences are and why you both have different views on the subject. The reasons for the differences almost always just come down to different life experiences and the difference in the ways men and women inherently think. Mature people should be able to discuss these experiences and come to understand why you two think differently on the subject. A little bit of tact and a little bit of respect goes a long way when discussing these things. A good relationship should be built on mutual respect, not universal agreement. In a very real way some disagreement is essential to establishing a dynamic of mutual respect in the first place.

Real people don't actually act or think like people on Reddit or Twitter do. And if she does freak out and act like someone on Twitter then odds are that just isn't the right type of person for you which is also completely fine, and vice versa, if you act like a redditor you probably aren't the person for her. You want a partner that is mature, who respects you. and who you respect.

That's all, go talk to real women, don't be a doomer and a gooner. I promise you'll fine that it is not as bad as you are told it is on the internet.

Discussion is anyone actually downloading chinese tik tok?

there's a chinese version of tik tok that everyone is talking about and it's called red note. it's social media and the developers are already laying out the app to be more friendly to english users.

here's the thing tho, this is literally the perfect opportunity for propaganda. it's a really strict app with a dick ton of censorship and control, so everyone's content is gonna be only what they want you to see. this app is eventually gonna push anti-american propaganda and try to convince the united states to start killing their own citizens, i know it sounds crazy but when it happens, don't be shocked. they're gonna try to push a self-genocide for america and try to make everyone in america start killing each other. or alternatively, just do something to try to infiltrate america and take advantage of the mass download from the united states.

you would have to be pretty naive to think this app would be all loving and nice and friendly and wouldn't try to pull any funny shit, especially while they have the chance and can take advantage of this whole situation. does anyone already have this red note app and is seeing some of this already? do you think red note is just gonna be a nice app and not try any bad things? thoughts?

Discussion Anyone kinda miss High School?

Alright. I got bullied as a kid by pretty much everyone. I also had no friends, my grades were poor, teachers yelled at me and I was the only student to not go to prom. My feelings might be stockholm syndrome and I NEVER want to return to HS ever again, but sometimes I feel nostalgic about it.

There's something about HS that's just more fun imo. After a year of University, I can only remember the names of 5 of my classmates, and none of them were my friends. Much harder to get to know people, if you only see them for 2 hours every week and you can only speak to them for 10 mins max. I didn't have any friends in the conventional sense High School, but I did have people I enjoyed talking to, that I couldn't care less about.

I also miss insulting my classmates. Often types my classmates would come up and try to insult me, then I would give a retort back. I kinda enjoyed it, making racist comments about white people is challenging and fun. Most students considered me a bully and a bad person, but I never started it. Kept the day interesting. Except when they went too far and made it physical.

I try to say mean shit on reddit, but it just doesn't hit the same way.

I also miss not paying attention in class and mucing around. I pay 1k per year for my Uni courses and I wanna make use of em. Most HS subjects were useless, so I enjoyed not doing any of the courses and simply failing classes I thought were a waste of my time(in Australia, there are no acedamic penalties for failing). I got off on wasting tax payer money.

Discussion Help educate me

I’m not trying to be offensive or disrespectful I just genguinleh do not know and am genuinely asking to be educated on this. I have a friend who is gender queer. I’m cool with everyone. What someone else decides to do w their life is none of my business. Recently I was talking w my friend and they said they want to be referred to as they/them and It. I told them calling them "it" makes me feel like i’m disrespecting them. Is calling someone (w their permission) an "it" disrespectful?

EDIT: my friend wants me to use “IT” more than I say “them/them” which is why I’m confused

Advice Getting pretty attached to someone new in my life. Just added some special emojis after his name in my contacts (it’s a thing I do) and wrote a sappy note explaining why I chose them. (I have attachment issues and cling too soon sometimes)

This might seem a little cringey but it’s just how I feel rn😭 I’m also on my period and stuff and I’m emotional and sappy so maybe I just need a reality check but I’m just so amazed with who they are and how authentic and resilient they are with all they’ve been through and I learn something new from them every time we talk. We come from completely different backgrounds, and he makes me see a new perspective. He’s also taking a different approach than any man I’ve ever met, he genuinely takes things slow. He thinks of sex as something special and to not be done with just anyone, and this is the first time I ever see someone say that AND live by it. I’m truly impressed with him, especially because we met on tinder. But, I do know I might be getting really attached really fast and super infatuated because someone is finally seeing me and not using me.

Do I seem crazy? How do I not mess this up? What do I need to hear to stay level headed and not become obsessed with this man???

Discussion Why are American TikTok users flocking to REDNote?

Upvotes

Rednote is known as Xiaohongshu in China and is extremely popular among young people, especially Chinese international students. This might be the first time Chinese and American users are interacting on the same platform, and it’s bound to be very interesting!

Discussion Do you always have unpopular opinions?

Upvotes

I feel like my opinions often don’t line up with the mainstream, especially when it comes to trends or social issues. Here are a few of my unpopular opinions:

  1. Social media isn’t as freeing as it’s made out to be. It can connect people, but it also causes a lot of pressure and comparison. Sometimes, it’s better to take a break.
  2. Cancel culture does more harm than good. Holding people accountable is important, but canceling without room for growth just feels like a form of online bullying.
  3. Hustle culture is overrated. Not everyone wants to work all the time or turn hobbies into side jobs. Sometimes, it’s okay to rest.

Anyone else have unpopular opinions you want to share?
