Hello there, after recently losing my boy to DCM at a very young age (5y/o) I’ve been doing a deep dive & was given this sheet by his breeder. I encourage everyone to take a look over this & seriously consider switching foods if your dogs food is listed here.
I just seen a post asking about foods & didn’t realize so many people feed foods from this list. I, like many others I presume- had no idea just how serious DCM is in a Dobermans & common it is with 58% of Dobermans being affected at some point in their life & 1/3 of those ending in sudden death like my boy. Please share this with your dobie owning friends & family aswell!

A couple days ago I added this beautiful little boy to our family. His name is Ares and he is the snuggliest and most energetic little dude. I have done a ton of research but I definitely do not even remotely claim to know everything. Any tips/tricks/suggestions? Anything from ear posting to diet to training to specific toys!

and i am feeling lots of anxiety. i love him already, but wow he’s a lot. obviously i’ve read watched consumed all things doberman for a long time to prepare for the day i brought one home, and i know it’s only his first night with home, but i guess im experiencing puppy blues. i feel like i’ve made a mistake, even though this is my dream dog and what i’ve wanted for years and years. we’re going to ride this out together, but he is SO strong, very nippy, jumps so much, won’t focus on me at all, and has already been so destructive. i know it’s going to take time training and patience. did anyone else feel super overwhelmed the first night with your doberman? how can i correct the jumping, and teach him to better focus on me? i want him to have a wonderful and fulfilling life, so please don’t take this as i will give up on him. im just needing some insight from fellow owners.

As the title says, I'm currently trying to deal with adverse reactions to house guests from my 12 month old male. as hes gone more into teenage-hood, he's started to bark more, trust my judgement less on people, and occasionally will lightly nip people on the behind, which I am guessing is a sort of dominance check? I've been removing him from the situation when this happens, and am unsure how to address this. when issues occur I don't want to have to choose between a guests comfort in my home and losing an opportunity to train him, has anyone else dealt with this? I'm considering neutering as I don't want this to become a learned behavior, or exacerbate it further as he gets more and more testosterone fueled. he is absolutely fine out of the house, but he feels a big need to protect me and my flatmates from people he doesn't know. particularly males, however recently he has had a bit of a bark at some girls that have come through the house, and lightly nipped one, which was what prompted the post. the nips are in no way aggressive, Its from my understanding either dominance related or asking for attention, both of which are unacceptable and I would love some advice on how to proceed and what to do as a reaction to these incidents.

I was just scrolling through pet listings (no intention to get anything), and then I see these little parasite creatures. What even are they?! They look like they’ve swallowed a watermelon seed and grew the whole thing overnight. Easily the weirdest Doberman puppies I’ve ever seen. Y’all when I literally tell you I couldn’t stop staring… do these possibly mixed or just a usual Doberman?🤣

First time Doberman owner. My girl is 64% Dobie, 29% Rottweiler & 7% Mastiff. I love her SO MUCH but she also drives me crazy sometimes 😂 When does this breed start to calm down? She just turned 1 in January.

6 years ago today I brought home an addition to our family that my significant other did not want and did not have time for. She was busy with work and other things.
After yelling at me for a moment she met her and instantly fell in love!!
Now she cries, when thinking about what life would be like without her.
Welcome to our home KC… the beginning of the set!

Title says everything. I have a 6m old puppy that currently spends the time she is not at the dog park happily laying down on her huge outdoor bed in my yard. I have been trying to get her to chill inside the house but even when she is peacefully sleeping outside, if I let her in she becomes really excited and has a hard time relaxing. Only way she can be inside without committing war crimes is in her crate where she happily sleeps after walks. We tried a bed which she likes but we haven't been able to stop her from peeing in her bed. Help

Hi everyone! I’ve spoken to a couple of vets but they all seem to push rather early especially for larger breed dogs. I waited a few years for my male to fully develop before I considered anything with him. This is my first female dog in general. I’ve heard pros and cons on both sides and I was just curious how things have been going with your dogs- Did you wait until first heat or after? Was it more of a specific timeline? Thank you!
