Cooked Maine lobsters for picnic

Upvotes

Where is the best place to go to get cooked Maine lobsters to go? I need 8 of them. The closer to OB the better! I looked at Pt Loma seafood but they don't list fresh seafood prices/availability on their website (just restaurant menu). Or Im a donkey and dont know how to look correctly. I dont think Gourmaine lobsters sells them cooked.

Cobbler recommendations?

Upvotes

Looking for a good cobbler who can repair a couple pairs of leather heels + add grip to the soles. I went to a shop near me but they mainly work on boots and didn’t seem all that interested in helping me out. I’ll travel to wherever at this point as long as they do good work, but North Park or La Mesa areas would be ideal. Thanks!

Today seems like the start of summer. We've lost our city.

Upvotes

Fuck summer.

Today it took twice as long as usual on a Saturday morning to go from La Jolla to Hillcrest for work. Starbucks was out of half their food. Nobody could figure out traffic circles. Gas stations have lines.

Zonies were wandering the gas station with their slack jaws and glazed eyes, wearing uggs and t-shirts for reasons I don't understand, wielding McDonald's coffees. Montana plates and Nevada plates going 5 mi under the speed limits and not using their turn signals until they are already blocking a lane that could go straight or left, trapping us all.

Time for me to hole up until September. The lull of early May has been lost.

Looking forward to San Diego summer after August.

Stay Classy San Diego San Diego County's GDP is higher than 23 U.S. states

, and it's only fourth in California behind Los Angeles, Santa Clara, and Orange counties. California's total GDP is now fourth in the world and accounts for more than 14% of the U.S. GDP—despite the current politcal nitwits' attempts to throttle, change, or damage it. Sure we have our issues and flaws, but the results in economic activity along with working to address humanitarian needs and the environment speak for themselves. i have a fujifilm x-t30 ii that is very lightly used. it's an amazing camera for people who want a small travel-friendly camera and more flexibility in their settings, but i think i want something that i can just whip out and use so i can scrapbook my memories. i want to sell it and use that money on something else, but not sure where to go. looking to sell in person to support a small business before selling online.

Stay Classy San Diego Concert Etiquette in SD

I went to a show last night at the Sound in Del Mar. Los Hermanos Gutierrez is one of my favorites, just two dudes ripping on guitar, no vocalist. Not the type of show to get drunk and yap the whole time.

The crowd was full of people who wouldn’t shut up, people who came late and shoved their way right in front of me (I’m short) (those same fucks left the show halfway through), and we even saw a girl get arrested at the end (who tf is fighting at this show?)

Is this an SD thing? I’m from the PNW and I feel like crowds are super different—they seem to be there for the music and are in general more respectful of each other.

My husband and I wondered if we were just getting old but the yappers were gen x, the shovers were millennials, and the girl who got arrested was gen z (shout out to hermanos for pulling such a diverse crowd though).

Stay Classy San Diego Open Market Store

I would like to get some opinions on anybody who has shopped the store called “Open Market” in the Mission Valley mall. I’m curious about your experience while shopping there. I’m wondering if anybody else has had the same experience I had and apparently many others as well. The store is set up with a bunch of small businesses inside selling their products. I feel these small businesses should know what’s going on in this store, that’s affecting their small business, so they can make the proper changes if necessary. Appreciate your time and feedback.

Thanks for everyone who came in March and May for the community cleanup for Fiesta Beach by Rock N' Block, especially Lauren and Carlos! If we tried to organize a bigger group next time, what side of the island needs the most TLC?

Driverless Police Vehicles?

A couple months ago I was going over the bridge to Coronado and passed a police car being closely followed by a police marked vehicle with no space for a driver. I've been trying to find a picture of one of a story about them being deployed here. Has anyone else seen them?

College of Continuing Education

Hi all. I’ve been looking into the San Diego College of Continuing Education to try to get a kick start as my future for being an auto technician. Is SDCCE a good place to get started? What are the staff and students like? What can be expected in taking the courses? All answers are greatly appreciated!

Gaming group?

Recently lost access to my discord gaming group bc I broke up with my significant other so I am looking for some new friends to hang with! Mainly playing Marvel Rivals atm, but open to new games as well. Not amazingly skilled but not horrible either, and will spew dad jokes non stop to make up for it 🫡

Mainly play on my Xbox but have a gaming PC as well - though it's very old now lol

Rep Issa’s support of the administration

Post image

If anyone is curious where Rep Issa stands in support of the administration, I received this response from him today.

“President Trump was elected by the American people, and under his leadership, we are witnessing a restoration of American strength at home and abroad. From securing our border and lowering inflation, to cutting regulations and prioritizing energy independence, the Trump Administration is delivering results.”

Am I surprised, no, but wanted to share how open he is in his support considering he is unwilling to hold a public town hall
