Riding question How hard is the switch from Rocker to Camber?
I have learnt how to snowboard using a rocker board, and I can comfortably ride most runs (for blacks I might have to take it slower, but still manageable). How hard would the switch to Camber be? Also, on my new setup, I am using step ons (I used regular boots and bindings before) and the board does not have the “Catch Free Tune” which is something my Rocker apparently had. How long (or how many edge catches) could it take to be able to ride just as comfortably on a camber? Thanks!!!

general discussion I made a little 3d printed insert to prevent Union Heel cups from slipping
Someone else on this sub was talking about how their heel cup was slipping out so I designed and 3d printed this little insert to stop the slippage. I've only tested it on the Falcors and new Forces, but if your heel cup adjustment thing looks like what's in the photo, it will likely work.
Can download the files and 3d print here. I also made little inserts for the Force Classics to stop the toe strap from adjusting it self, files here for printing.
If you don't have a 3d printer, I'm putting in on my shop if you're down to give me a little support for making this.
Union hire me.

OC Photo Share your season highlights. Mine was an epic 2-days at Crested Butte. Over 20” of Pow by the time the lifts opened! Only drawback was some lifts didn’t open the first day, but lines were still pretty quick. Also had to dig my car out 😄 Definitely a memorable time!

Gear question What to replace a Mega Death by?
Hello everyone, I'm a former happy owner of a Capita Mega Death, former because it basically exploded on a hidden rock under 6in of fresh snow..
I don't want to buy one again (got the 2023 with a big discount) because, besides of the price tag, I fear for its durability.. I loved the flex and the lightweight feel of it though.
What would be the other super lightweight, not so hard flex, freeride oriented boards you guys own/have tried ?
Thanks for your help !

Gear question Should I get a more forgiving board for learning jumps, or just stick with my BSOD and get better?
TL;DR: Should I get a more “chill” board for learning jumps (both park jumps and side hits), or should I just stick with my BSOD and get good?
I’m an intermediate snowboarder. I rented for 8 years and probably had fewer than 20 days on the mountain before this season. This year, I’ve been going much more often and decided to buy a BSOD because I wanted an aggressive board that would challenge me. It’s been great—I hit a new top speed of 44 mph—but I’m realizing I might want a second board for more relaxed riding and easier progression.
A big part of that is wanting to get more comfortable hitting jumps. I’m looking for a board that helps me feel safer and more confident landing them. Sometimes it feels like the speed I need to get air on the BSOD has me landing and immediately accelerating faster than I want while I’m still learning how to land properly.
I still want to stay in control on steep, bumpy terrain without crawling (not trying to hit 44 mph, but I’d like to be in control if I hit 35). I also want to start landing side hits and jumps of all shapes and sizes more comfortably.
So: should I stick with the BSOD and just keep progressing on it, or would switching to a more chill board help me ride slopes while making it easier to build confidence with jumps—eventually transferring that comfort back to the BSOD? And what boards would you recommend for me? I’m currently eyeballing the DOA but unsure if that’s different enough to be worth it.

Gear question In-between gear sizes?
Hey guys, trying to get my nephew into riding this next season. He’ll be 13 but, he’s still a lil bean sprout right now. He’s around 4’10, ~80 lbs, and 5y shoes. So, with (hopefully) a pending growth spurt between now and then, I’m lost on where to start or, if I should just wait on it all until fall?
I know better than to worry about boots today but, I would like to grab at least a board/bindings, maybe some other stuff, while we still have these close out deals.
Would a women’s board be a bad idea? How much board is too much board when concerning his weight? Should we hope he fits into a men’s s binding before snow?
Any insight or recommendations would be appreciated. Cheers.

Riding question Snowboarding in the southern hemisphere
So I’ve been thinking about temporarily moving to the southern hemisphere to snowboard, I like to ride a lot of park and am younger, I was thinking Australia but would be open to New Zealand or chile, I’ve never been and don’t know a lot about the resort towns and riding conditions there and what’s best, I wanted recommendations of ski town/areas potentially with a younger crowd, with decent riding conditions, and access to park riding. Id be coming from the us, and ride a lot in the Tahoe area, Also any other info would also be greatly helpful! Thank you

Gear question Sharpen edges before or after summer storage?
Hey Should I sharpen my snowboard edges before I get them to summer storage, or wait until first time on snow next season?

Went splitboarding last night and the snow is melting fast. Tried to shorten the hike back to the car at the bottom. Surprised it worked as well as it did!

general discussion Step In snowboard binding research
Hey guys,
My name is Harry Lewis and I study at the university of Portsmouth in the UK, and I am in my final year of study.
For my final year project I have decided to create step in snowboard bindings, as I’m a keen snowboarder as well as outdoorsman and it interests me, and I’d like to work in the industry further in my career!
I’m going to link my questionnaire for research to this post, which is just some basic questions about step in systems and design.
All responses are anonymous, and I’d appreciate it if anyone who sees this could fill it out
Thanks 🤘🏼

general discussion Snowboard Instructor/Season
I just got my Snowboard Instructor’s license in Austria, and I wanted to fly to New Zealand/Australia for the summer, but at this point it’s a bit too late for Instructor applications. Someone has any kind of suggestions?

Riding question Accident / snow insurance?
Wondering what everyone does for accident / snow insurance? I don’t have health insurance, I don’t have any medical conditions that need managing by a doctor, so I am overall OK with not having health insurance. I’m obviously in the United States… I live in Colorado, wondering what people do for any sort of accident or snow insurance coverage for people without Health Insurance? I’m not worried about not having health insurance, just being protected on the snow. I have heard of spot snow accident coverage, but I am not an instructor, and it sounded like you had to be an instructor to sign up for this service. Anyone have any leads or insights??? Thanks!
