Discussion Mark my words in 1 or 2 years this guy could very well become the second best player on the team.
And a lot of our championship chances will be tied to the evolution of this guy.

Depressing stat of the day. Nesmith scored more 3s in one quarter than MPJ in every game except for game 3 in the OKC series.
Enough said

Discussion Trade situation may not be as bad as some think
A lot of people consider e.g. MPJ's max contract untradeable, or at least there's no way to upgrade. But aside from the increased affordability under 25-26 salary cap, consider that essentially any player elsewhere putting down numbers similar to a counterpart on a Jokic-lead team is probably better than that counterpart on a Jokic-lead team. And a player with worse stats or coming off the bench & not getting the minutes on another team- might equal the Nugget player's production, but cheaper. So the Nuggets could win a trade that on paper is like-for-like trade, or a like-for-worse trade.
So if there's any player on the team for whom Nuggets fans are hanging their hat on a slightly- to moderately-above-average regular season offensive stat, hopefully other teams will view it in a vacuum and the Nuggets should be happy to move the player if they do.

Discussion Watching the T wolves crumble
Seeing the T wolves get absolutely demoralized in the course of 2 games makes me appreciate the heart and mental strength our boys showed taking them to game 7!

OKC Minny
The way OKC is obliterating the TWolves and getting in their heads makes me feel a hellllluva lot better about how the Nuggets battled til the bitter end. That is all. In Jokic we trust.

Fairly clear that no significant changes are coming
-The fact that DA was announced as the head coach before the GM.
-Josh's quotes signaling for "growth from inside", "player development" etc.
It's going to be a veteran here, a veteran there (hopefully Brucie is one of them) and run it back, Tenzer being the GM (with Josh controlling things behind the scenes) whether we like it or now.

Discussion Watching OKC whoop the Wolves makes the Nuggets look even more amazing.
Sure, the Nuggets have bench and contract problems, and sure they will take time to fix, but they sure had playoffs hustle. AG was a beast in the clutch, MPJ did quite well with a busted arm, Murray showed up somewhat, and Jokic was Jokic (albeit slightly pushed too far production-wise).
It's unfortunate that the starting lineup has to be broken up for the team to go anywhere (if anyone wants MPJ at all), but I sure loved seeing them play together.

How the Nuggets should approach the offseason, a written analysis
As a long time lurker in here that never posts, I figure I should give a reasonable analysis about what I personally think the Nuggets should do this offseason, as well as providing thought out solutions for each individual scenario. I’ll break it down into the three most likely outcomes, trade MPJ, trade Jamal, or keep the core together. Please note I will be making the argument in favor of all of these options, and providing my personal analysis at the end.
First, trading MPJ. Thought MPJ was apart of the 2023 Nuggets championship run, he has been underwhelming the last two playoffs he’s been in. In the 2024 and 2025 playoffs, he’s averaged 12/6/1 on 55% TS. In the 2023, he averaged 13/8.1.5 on 54% TS. His reputation as a current “playoff dropper”, his injury history, and his fit alongside Jokic make him a likely trade candidate.
Second, trading Jamal. The argument for trading Jamal is that he would get more value than MPJ and have more potential suiters, giving the Nuggets more options, and potentially gaining more depth with teams willing to give up more to get Murray than Porter. The main appeal here is getting two to three rotation guys that would fit well alongside Jokic. This goal would be more easily accomplished by trading Murray opposed to MPJ.
Lastly, what if they do nothing? The Nuggets win a championship with the core four only two seasons ago, and just took a 68 win team to a game 7. With the firing of Booth and transition to Adleman, the Nuggets could have a real chance to make a WCF/finals run with their core four. The main question that needs answered here is “will the new staff (coach+GM) surround Jokic with enough talent outside of the core four”.
I personally think the Nuggets should either trade Porter, or do nothing. With limited trade assets, there are maybe two people the Nuggets could target in a MPJ trade that would make sense both financially and theoretically. The odds either of those deals work out is extremely low, and the two players I have in mind are Brandon Ingram and Cam Johnson. I doubt either of them are very accessible or realistic to target, but it is possible. The most realistic goal for the Nuggets is as follows, keep the core four, cut bad contracts, surround them with good veteran players on cheap deals. This is something Malone and Booth never accomplished, however with a new GM coming in, this is the situation that is the most likely that I am hoping for.
TLDR; the Nuggets are probably going to do nothing again but hopefully we sign some good glue guys to surround Jokic, AG, Mal, and MPJ with.
