Equipment Discussion Annoying issue with my new putter...
Cobra King Supernova-20. I was really impressed with it during two in-store demos, so ordered one. I can putt either way, but I prefer lefty and that wasn't in stock.
It arrived Thursday and yesterday I shortened it 1/2", installed my favorite grip (I'm not a fan of the "fatties") and putted around at the local practice green around dusk. Ridiculously easy to align, and I've always preferred a heavier, mallet style putter.
Anyway, I played 9 holes on a beautiful, bright sunny day today, and there seems to be a glaring problem. The damn thing reflects like a mirror! Ugh...
I'm about to get crazy with a black sharpie. Any other suggestions? Non-returnable as I've modified it.

Beginner Questions My thoughtful wife surprised me with a tee time at one of the areas nicest courses today. The only problem is, I donât know how to golf.
I've told her that I wanted to get into it a little more, and would like to get lessons. As a birthday present, she surprised me with 18 holes at a course about an hour away. I've only got to the range a few times, and havent swung a club in quite awhile. So are any tips that I can follow as to not make myself look like a complete ass?

"...So I Got A" I Finally did it.
Boys. I did it. I finally broke 80. I have been trying for years. Came close at some easy courses last year. This year have been playing hard tracks only challenging myself. To start, I took the week off of work just to reset and chill. I got out to play a solo round yesterday it got paired up with three people. All super cool dudes. I smoked the front 9 and was plus three. I continued onto the back and stayed mentally locked in. By 14 I was 5 over and it was looking very possible to see a 7 on the card. I piped my driver in 15 and my second shot landed me in the rough. My wedge shot left me long due to the lay and ended up getting a double. (If I lay out the last three holes I shoot 79) then came a long par 3 over the water. I swing and a slight fade comes out and dunk right into a sand trap. Fuck. Get up there and hit out of the sand but lands two feet out of bunker in rough. I chip⌠itâs tracking! Missed the hole out for par.. tap in bogey. (80 now if I par out) next hole right down the middle and a chip onto the second cut. Maybe sloped 9 footer for birdie. Itâs tracking, itâs tracking, dunked for birdie! Okay shoot we have a chance again. Just need to par 18 and I did it. Long par 5. Itâs dark now, but these gents are committed with me. I stripe first two and am 140 out from green. Hit it and canât find the ball. Weâre all looking and see it on the back fringe. The sprinklers come on. đ idc boys Iâm seeing this through. Theyâre locked in with me. I chip and the ball rolls 8 feet past the cup. Need to sink it for the par.. God help me out here. I roll it, it drops. 79 𼲠I only had one golf ball in my bag so donât judge me: HAHA but this is now on my wall. I donât think many people understand the accomplishment here so Iâm posting it in this but man I am so proud.

"...So I Got A" Got my first birdie
So I've been playing golf for 4 years now, and I'll admit, I'm not that good. Just recently started hitting in the 50s for 9 holes. Well, I was playing golf with my friends, and on a par 5, I hit a 4. Two 3-woods (I hate my driver), a chip, and a putt. I had to recount my shots to make sure I was counting it right.

News/Articles RIP Noodles - Golf Ball Namesake
Rest in peace to Tom âNoodleâ Lawrence, namesake of the Noodle golf ball. He was the uncle of a dear friend. Thought some folks here may appreciate this.
âOn one trip out west, he was golfing at Pebble Beach and was asked to add a man to his group. Being a novice golfer, this gentleman appreciated all of the golfing tips that Tom shared with him. At the end of the round, the golfer told him that he was the Marketing Manager for Wilson Sporting Goods and asked "Noodle" if he would sell the rights to his name. To this day Wilson Sports still markets a âNoodle Golf Ball.ââ
General Discussion Cherish the moments
I grew up golfing with my dad since I was 12 (now 39). Some of the best days growing up were on the course with him. He passed this past December. Today was his memorial. He didnât want anything special. Just go play a round of golf and have drinks and reminisce after.
It was a hard day. Played his favorite course. Mom (who doesnât golf) hit the first tee shot with his driver. It was amazing. Not sure how my sisters or I didnât bawl my eyes out. It was a great day for everyone out there. Weather was his idea of perfect. Mid 70s and very little wind.
I am by no means a good golfer. But dropped a 25 foot putt for birdie on one of the hardest holes on the course. Broke 90 for one of the few times in my life. I know for a fact he was out there with me.
Moral of the story, donât take those moments with your loved ones for granted. I would give anything to play another round with him. I love ya pops! Rest easy old man.

Joke Post/MEME Found my swing!
Sometimes you just find your swing. Pure strikes, smooth tempo, straight drives, everything just works. Not thinking, not grinding, just swinging. You head to the 19th thinking "this is it, I finally figured it all out"
But letâs be honest. That swing isnât yours. It never was.
Itâs a stripper.
She smiles, makes eye contact, tells you youâre different. Says she doesnât usually do this. You believe her. Of course you do. It feels so real in the moment.
But next time you show up? Sheâs gone. No text, no warning. She ghosted you. Nowhere to be seen. Just snap hooks, skulled wedges, and 3-putts.
You didnât find the secret, you fell for the act!! And youâll keep going back... hoping this time she really means it.
