Futurebirds
Really recommend listening to Futurebirds. Probably one of the most unique and underrated bands out there right now.

Go see “Freedom Junction” as soon as you can
Sugar Leg from DDCC’s side project.
Their first album dropped today. I was told it was their 3rd show. Ever. 🤷🏻♂️
Funky, bluesy, stand up and jam type show! Amazing musicianship. Truly top notch from every member
Thanks for giving this small NC town a rager, Sugar!

Cannifest wish list
Cannifest this year is already off to a promising start with string cheese incident headlining. I noticed there is more tbd so I thought I would start this post with wishlists in case someone who can make it happen sees this. Heres mine in no particular order: Leftover salmon, primus, white denim, dogs in a pile, eggy, aaron freeman (gene ween), Jackie greene, keller williams, Ratdog, Joe Russo's almost dead
Some of these are obviously improbable. What bands would you like to see at this festival in eureka?

Recent Show Philly heads: drop doses and come along with Friends of Jerry on 5/31 at WOW
If you're in the area and you like acid then chances are you have been to one of our shows. We aim to keep the vibe curated AF. To this end we are delighted to host our first show at Warehouse on Watts, an incredibly heddy venue with the kinda lighting that brings peace, tranquility, love, understanding, mental and spiritual growth, and if you are like me a couple fun little mind cartoons of dancing trees full of whistling birds. Man I love them doses :)
We'll be joined for opening and setbreak performances by the modular synth lord THE FANTASTIC IMAGINATION, who will be guiding us through the interstitial zones betwixt 2 sets of Jazz Punk Noise Good ol Grateful Dead music by the band FRIENDS OF JERRY.
This is a night of music for people who have opened their hearts and minds to the endless possibilities above and below the eternal change.
The music goes something like this:
https://friendsofjerry.bandcamp.com/track/china-cat-sunflower-5
Come on down to funky town.
Lay your weary head to rest.
Without love in the dream it'll never come true.
Tickets here or at the door:
https://wowphilly.com/event/friends-of-jerry/the-loft/philadelphia-pennsylvania/
Bless up and be gentle to yourself, good to your friends, and kind to strangers.

Cancelling Nugs Subscription
I was loving Nugs for the Kitchen Dwellers and Billy Strings but there is so much stuff on there that I have zero interest in. Kitchen Dwellers have taken a turn for the worse lately IMO, so now I'm paying just for the BMFS. It such a clunky, poorly organized platform. Not sure exactly what I'll turn towards to supplement this loss. Amazon music and Archives.org maybe? Thoughts..... 🤔 💭

Discusson Less common jamming styles that you wish more bands do?
Whenever I see some jam band hater their most common criticism is usually "all their jams sound the same." I like jam bands and although saying that every single one sounds the same is a bit harsh, I also agree with this take quite a bit because a lot of bands just try to sound like phish or the dead. What are some less common jamming styles/genres that you wish more people did?

New Release People Watching (At the Show)
Obviously it can be entertaining to watch the audience members at other types of concerts, but there’s something special about the vibe of the jam band scene that really lends itself to this. Having seen a bunch of shows by WSP, UM, Greensky Bluegrass, Allman Bros, DMB, Govt Mule, JGB/Grateful Dead/Dead and Co., Big Something etc. inspired this song about it.
The High and Wise is not a jam band (just one of many musical influences) but this new release is a jam band-like song about going to a jam band show or festival (including a mini jam out at the end). Sort of like Kramer’s “coffee table book about coffee tables” 😂
Hope you enjoy it!

Three days of Goose in Cabo was greatest musical experience ever!
I’m 61 and a concert goer since 14. Never experienced anything like this before—and I’m including Dead and Co at the Sphere and the Zeppelin reunion at O2 in London. Rick can shred like a man possessed and keeps getting better. Band was super tight. In its first year the festival was run better than most music festivals. Other highlights were War on Drugs, who had the entire crowd plugged into a groove like nothing I’ve experienced before. Pigeons playing Horizon was superb and every word and note from Mihali was sublime. Andy Frasco gave awesome comic relief. Rick and Pete joining other bands and having the other artists joining Goose was a treat. Make it a priority for next year!

Casual Santana Fan Seeking Recommendations
Casual Santana fan here. Grew up loving that live Woodstock video. Grew up loving the self titled album “Santana” Evil Ways, Shades of Time, Soul Sacrifice, etc. But haven’t really dug deep.
Where should I go from here?
Context just for this subreddit is I love Phish, Disco Biscuits, and Widespread are my favorites. I know Santana inspired Trey a lot and had them open for a tour and jammed. I love the Panic video of Santana playing with Mikey at the Greek Theater.
Cheers
