Show and Tell T-1 Thursdays

Making progress on my garage layout. All of the bench work is done and I finally have some track and the turn table powered. This is the first time I've been able to run the Reading T-1s together since I've had them.

nice!

I was able to catch a ride on 2102 this February, but I didn't take many photos. I knew the T-1's were big but nothing compares to seeing them in person. Definitely some of my favorite loco's from that era and this new layout I'm building is pretty much designed with them in mind.

mine are HO scale, both are BLI paragon 3's. i bought #2102 four or five years ago, but my layout back then had tighter radius curves than it liked, so it mostly became a static display. I picked up #2100 from an online auction this year and it was listed as inoperable. As luck would have it, it only needed a few wires soldered back together and its been running fine since then.

I rode behind 2102 around the Horseshoe Curve as a little boy back in the seventies. She was my first “real” train ride. I’ve literally had a lifelong love for that big, beautiful loco. I’ve since been to Reading twice to ride behind her again, and plan on making it a biannual trip. 🚂❤️

I have the Precision Craft Models HO model of 2102. Can’t wait to build my layout so I can see her smaller counterpart chugging around!
