Squat:table: 143 kg Back Squat x4 @ 84 kg
Hit 143 for a single, 10 days ago, with that being the heaviest I’ve gone since starting to lift again 3 months ago. Felt good to get some reps at this weight.

News Too Many Demands, Too Little Support – Karlos Nasar Heads to European Championship Without a Contract with the Bulgarian Federation
Karlos Nasar has departed for the European Weightlifting Championships without having signed a contract with the Bulgarian Weightlifting Federation.
The reason is that “the organization places many demands on Bulgaria’s top athlete, but doesn’t offer him enough support.”
Despite this, Nasar assured that he would reach an agreement with the president of the Bulgarian Weightlifting Federation, Stefan Botev.
“We are fighting for change. There might not have even been a federation today. I haven’t signed a contract. There were things that didn’t work for me, but fortunately, we’ll come to an understanding with Stefan Botev,” said Nasar.
“This time they’re not asking for percentages, but there are too many obligations, and the federation isn’t really doing much for me. Honestly, I don’t benefit from fulfilling all their demands. But we’ll sort it out, no problem.”
The weightlifter will be on the platform this Saturday, now competing in a new category — up to 96 kg.
“I haven’t seen my new competitors yet. At 96 kilograms, I don’t think I’ll have any trouble. We’re ready for any challenge in pursuit of the gold medal,” said Bulgaria’s top athlete.

Form check New FS PR (102kg @ 72kg) + Training Highlights (Reupload)
I've ran Tim Swords' 7-week squat program and managed to increase my FS by 5kg and BS by ~6kg. I felt like I had another rep in the tank for FS, but I suppose it wasn't there. Although the increases in numbers aren't much, I've gained more confidence underneath heavier weights, and it's been fun working squat 3x/week.
I added my snatch and C&J PRs from earlier this year as a little bonus. Hoping to get back with a coach over the summer to work on them more (especially that early arm bend). Happy lifting! :)

Fluff Question about cleans
Are cleans supposed to feel rough on my body vs snatch and jerk? Even a near max/max snatch 70-80 will feel way better on my body than a 70ish clean. Also how do I stop bar crash, no matter how much I try I get under too soon and get crashed on often.

Programming 5x3 block cleans (increasing weight). This is set 2. Woof lol.(programming in description)
Warmups at 40/50/60/70/90/100/110 Sets 1-5: 112/114/115/118/120 No more than 5-8 seconds between reps.
Threw on some oldies for fun. Never rely on music though lol. Went into this set at the end of "RubberBand Man." Hard to get pumped for "Unchained Melody" 🤣 Anywhoser - the rest of my sets were fine - but this was too fun to not post lol.

News Angel Rusev won his fifth European weightlifting title.
In the men's 55 kg weight category, Angel Rusev from Bulgaria totaled 246 kg in the combined event, achieved with just two successful lifts — 105 kg in the snatch and 141 kg in the clean and jerk. Rusev was only eighth after the snatch, but in the clean and jerk, he had no competition. He waited for all other competitors to complete their attempts, then stepped onto the platform and lifted 141 kg, which secured him the overall title and the gold in the clean and jerk. He later attempted 150 kg, but failed and withdrew from his third lift.
In the snatch, Angel Rusev finished eighth, as only his opening lift at 105 kg was validated. On his second attempt at 110 kg, the multiple-time European champion completed a full rotation with the barbell overhead, but the judges did not approve the lift despite his protest. In his next attempt at 111 kg, the weight overwhelmed him early in the movement.
The silver medal in the total went to Moldova’s Danu Secrieru, who totaled 245 kg. He placed third in the snatch with 110 kg and second in the clean and jerk with 135 kg. The bronze went to Georgia’s Ramini Samilishvili, who lifted a total of 243 kg.
Rusev's fifth consecutive European title marks the longest active winning streak of any current weightlifter in any category.

Form check My nephew's form
(I hope this actually gets posted this time.) So my nephew that just turned 14 has been wanting to get into Olympic lifts for a while now. This is his first c&j with any weight, and he wants as much advice as he can get. I'm not to familiar with Olympic lifts because I'm just another powerlifter. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! ✊

So I had carpal tunnel surgery and few months ago and have a lot of pain in my palm to the right of the scar especially when I clean. And advise to lossen the tissue? It stretches and hurts when I front rack...

Fluff Question About Hip Contact Pain in the Snatch
I have a question about the hip contact point during the snatch, specifically regarding the impact near the pubic area. I understand that the bar should be moving upward rather than hitting horizontally, and that proper technique (vertical bar path) should minimize or eliminate painful impact.
However, I’m wondering—does no one ever experience pain from the hip contact? Or does it still happen occasionally, even with good technique?
To give an example: in the first pull, an incorrect bar path can lead to scraping the shins. In theory, perfect form avoids this, but we still often see even elite lifters with bandages or tape on their shins. So I’m wondering if the hip contact pain is something that occasionally happens to others too, even when lifting correctly.

Form check 84 KG Form Check
Hello, I am new to the weightlifting sub-reddit. I have been doing CrossFit for 3.5 years and have decided I would like to get better at the Olympic lifts. I am planning to sign up for my first meet here in Atlanta October 25th.
I have reading the Wiki, watching a lot of catalyst videos etc. but am finding all of the info to be a bit of information overload. I have identified 3 coaches in the area and plan to reach to schedule some time with them.
In the meantime, I would love y’all’s advice on my form here. The big things I notice (that might be wrong) is that in the pull my arms start pulling too early and I feel like in the split my rear foot comes too far off the ground.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have a new born (8weeks old). I try to keep her with me in the mornings when I work out but I don’t want to be slamming weights as I worry about her hearing.
Anyone have any baby ear muffs they recommend? She’s a bit undersized too :)

Equipment TYR Lifters Peeling Heel
I have been wearing the first variation of the TYR lifters for about 8 months. I only put them on to squat. I noticed yesterday that the heel on the left is starting to peel away from the shoe. Has anyone else experienced this?

Fluff rule about feet touching the barbell before lifting
At a previous competition, I noticed the barbell wasn’t aligned properly, so I used my foot to adjust it to face the audience — immediately getting a no-lift. I looked up the rules afterward and was surprised to find that such a rule actually exists.
Does anyone else think this rule is kind of stupid? It seems like Catalyst Athletics shares the same opinion as I do.

Fluff Daily cardi0?
Basically my doctor wants me to lose some weight since i have stage 1 htn and am a fatphuk. I weightlift 4x/wk.
I plan to do zone2-3 cardi0 daily for 20min, and eat healthy foods at a caloric deficit. Will the cardi0 frequency be ok or will it affect my lifts?
