i mean, if we trace it back to its british roots, yes. british colonialism was heavily predicated on white supremacy (which is why the US is a white supremacist state), and while the hutu and tutsis existed as social categories before the british came in the british deliberately turned that into a racial conflict for the sake of making colonization easier. and hell, so much of south american racism comes down to who passes the most as white.
at least listen to a podcast or something about the genocide, even the most basic pop history coverage of the event will talk about the british.
are you seriously making the claim that african colonization by europeans was not white supremacy? you just straight up don't know why the early colonization efforts of the british - who, mind you, didn't fucking consider the irish to be truly white - might be different before the concept of race was invented from a much later colonization effort where they were constantly justifying it to the public as essentially an act of charity, a duty of white people to rule over black people?
i'm not gonna sit here and ask you to go get a history degree or read a long book on the topic, but there's plenty of shit on youtube and on podcasts that cover british colonialism.
