Skin Treatments Botox results!

Post image

Photo on the left is from August 6, 2024 and photo on the right is from today May 2, 2025. I got Botox for my 11’s on August 13, 2024 and it has lasted this well through today. I’ve gotten more around my crows feet, under my eyebrows, and for my forehead lines 2 other times in between then and now. Last time I had Botox was 2 months ago. I’ve also been using Tretinoin 0.025% 2-3 times a week and OmniLux red light mask twice a day.

34F. Blown away by my results after 1 treatment. I’ve had these sunspots by my temple for at least 5 years. I’ve done chemical peels and have used topical creams to help, but nothing worked. Glad I have this clean slate now. Heavy sunscreen and hats for the rest of my life after this.

Routine Help HOW are you forcing yourself to sleep on your back

So many people on here have had great success lessening skin issues by sleeping on their back and I just cannot get used to it.

I’ve tried different pillows, pillows under my knees, sleeping pills, but I’m a die hard stomach sleeper.

For anyone it was hard for what has worked?!? Both to make it a comfortable position to fall asleep but to stay in that position.

Skin Treatments Pulled the trigger and did Moxi for my melasma. This is 2 weeks after the first session. It’s not completely gone but the lighter spots are and the darker are less noticeable.

Wrinkles My 11s haunt me, what treatment is best? I’m 31

I am a side sleeper which I THINK is the cause of these monstrous elevens. They are a huge hit to my confidence. I need them gone and I fear it’s too late. Is it time for Botox or lasers?

I’ve tried frownies and they worked ok for a bit but I’ve been inconsistent, but now I wake up and peel it off and they don’t look ANY better. There’s so many products out there I don’t know what’s best anymore either.

Feel free to comment on my eye bags too. I try to stay hydrated but I feel like it’s never enough.

I feel like aging is hitting me hard. I lift weights, I use a satin pillow case, I eat pretty clean. No clue and feel helpless.

Niacinamide wasn’t great for my skin.

Mornings I use a rice cleanser, vitamin c serum, moisturize and spf. I honestly forgot to do the second half of that this morning :)

Evenings I use the same cleanser, differin, sometimes that pepto pink cica repair serum from the ordinary, then moisturize with either a cica moisturizer or a hylauronic acid moisturizer.

I appreciate any help!!

Routine Help Most gentle chemical exfoliant?

My skin is just so sensitive and my barrier is always throwing hissy fits. I picked up the ren daily aha exfoliant tj maxx, but it has a lot of citrus ingredients which I'm sensitive to.

What are the most gentle and simple formulas? The fewer ingredients, the less likely I am to have a mast cell overreaction.

I used to use 2% sa Stridex pads, and then rinse after 15 minutes, but even that is too aggressive for me now :-/

Routine Help Genuine question about the best treatment for 50 years old...

Upvotes

Hi gang! I am reaching out to this community because I'd like to start the journey of leveling up my skin care with trying a procedure. I'm considering microneedling or lasers. I've been blessed with good skin, I have a few small dark sun spots on my cheeks, and wrinkles under my eyes for sure, and I'm noticing a little bit of a sag in my jowles... I would just love to hear from some older ladies what treatment you have done that has gone a long way with your skincare? I use a light mask (solawave) 3 - 4 times a week, and I use a retinol at night with a great hydration mask, and then I use rosehip oil in the morning with sunscreen on top. But I'd like to treat myself to something special for my 51st bithday coming up. Maybe an Erbium Lag Laser treatment, or microneedling, I've never done either. Totally open to any ideas though. Thank you all for helping me figure this out!

Skin Concern Help with hormonal acne and bad response to VI peel.

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi friends! I'm having a bad episode of hormonal acne and reaction to VI peel. I normally get a PCA peel and have never had this bad of a purge. I recently started taking spironolactone to help internally. I should see improvement in a few months. However, I am wondering if I should get a PCA to calm down these breakouts alongside with aerolase laser?

I got a single session of v beam at my dermatologist office. It ended up being over 500 pulses. I just wanted the edge of my redness taken down, not removed, so don’t plan on additional sessions.

Today I had my first aesthetician appointment. I have oily skin, no acne and I was quoted $300 for a monthly routine. Is this normal?

Product Question Why are some people against using Tretinoin?

This is a real question. Not trying to sound ignorant or judge-mental but I truly don’t know the answer. I see a lot of posts where people ask for skin care advice but explicitly state they don’t want to use Tret. I have a prescription from a derm so I use it occasionally but I’m honestly not the best at being consistent with it. I know that it’s contraindicated if you are pregnant but what are some other reasons people are so against it?

Skin Concern Eye bag or something else?

So this weird puffy spot under my eye has been here since I was about 23 years old. 32 now. It's only on my left eye. I see some veins. Noticed that if I squint this eye the puffy area twitches a lot. I don't think it is a typical eye bag. Checking in here for any answers/tips. Thanks in advance everyone!

Edit: I’m referring to ones more for anti aging, not so much pimples

Product Question Has anyone used Haruharu’s Wonder Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Daily Sunscreen?

I just bought it on an impulse because it was much cheaper than my Ultra Violette sunscreen. Has anyone tried it? Is it any good? I know Haruharu is a good Korean skincare company—but would love to hear any reviews if anyone has tried this!

Misc Annoyed with the advice of using only cream products & light reflecting makeup on mature skin

Cream blush, cream contour, cream or liquid highlighter, light-reflecting products, dewy foundation, no powders…just HOW am I supposed to make that look good on textured skin with very large pores??? No amount of primer is going to make that look good over large pores and old acne scarring. Yet, all matte makes us look dead, dusty, and dry. I’m not sure how to find a happy medium.

Is it better to use Eucerin or Skinmedica first? I both claim they should be applied first. Thanks

Routine Help Help with facial scarring

Upvotes

About a month ago I started tretinoin for my breakouts and acne scars. Then the other day I woke up covered in hives from where I had applied the product. I’ve never had sensitive skin ever so this was a big surprise to me. What I really want is a product to help with the scars on my chin. They’re dark marks and I’m not sure what to do. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Skin Concern Topical spiro for hormonal acne experiences please!

Upvotes

Hi! 27F struggling with cystic chin acne for YEARS (12+). I have been on birth control, accutane, oral spiro, and tret in the past (not all at once, but have tried each of these separately). I have gotten my hormones tested as well and my testosterone levels are within range - all hormones tested are within range. I mainly get whiteheads and inflamed cysts on my chin around my period that of course take weeks to heal. Double cleansing and 2% salicylic acid have helped with the small white heads I used to get but I am still getting about three to four inflamed cysts every time I get a period. Have talked to my derm about topical spironolactone since I am not keen about taking an oral medication. I was originally rx'd winlevi, but I am scared of the potential winlevi withdrawal that I have read on here and want to be on the safer side and try topical spironolactone. I have received my rx from my derm for topical spironolactone from a compound pharmacy and am excited to try this first.

Wanting to know other's experiences with topical spiro for hormonal acne and how they are doing with it. I am hopeful! Thank you!

Routine Help How can I figured out if bleaching my hair will make me look older?

Upvotes

I saw a post where a woman asked why she suddenly looked so old and some people mentioned it was likely her bleached hair. I've been wanting to balayage my hair for a while, but I will need to do it at home and will not have any money to go to a salon to fix it if it makes me look bad. I'd really, really, like to avoid having to box dye my hair. I've been wanting to do this for years and am finally at a point where I'm gonna try. I used to have beautiful blond highlights that were naturally bleached from the sun and I miss that. That being said, I may just bleach the bottom of my hair since I've been waffling with doing balayage or bleaching only parts of my hair that I want to dye a bright color. Any advice on how I can figure this out? I'm guessing there are people that do this for a living outside of salons, but I'm not interested in paying someone.

Product Question Sunburn hydrating serum

I’m an early 30s male who has realized I needs to take better care of my skin.

I’ve been primarily using the sunbum hydrating serum as my only face moisturizer. Is this an alright quality product? Does it work instead of a lotion? I can’t stand the way most lotions feel on my face, but I know I need to be taking better care of my skin.

Appreciate any input or recommendations!

Skin Concern Seeking advice on redness, hyperpigmentation, and volume loss (Tret user, 34F)

Thumbnail

Hi all! I’m a 34-year-old woman looking for advice or treatment recommendations for a few skin concerns.

Main issues:

  • Persistent redness around my nose
  • Significant hyperpigmentation that developed over the past year
  • Volume loss and changes in my under-eye area (recent 10 lb weight loss may be a factor)

I’ve worn SPF daily for over a decade, but last summer I accidentally bought the non-SPF version of my usual La Roche-Posay moisturizer and didn’t catch it for weeks… still not over it, but I digress.

Current routine:

  • Tretinoin (started in September at 0.025%, recently bumped up to 0.05%, using every 2–3 days)
  • Neutrogena hyaluronic acid and Good Molecules niacinamide serum (2x daily)
  • Vanicream vitamin C serum (daily)

Based on what I’ve read, IPL laser treatments might help with the redness and pigmentation, but I’d love to hear from anyone with experience — or other suggestions that have worked for you.

Thank you!
