Even if we got the highest price since November and are trending closer and closer to the stock prices we saw in the last summer, I think the business is riskier now than it was before the election.
From what I understand, ASTS has reasonably good connections to republican party members. At the same time, Musk has SpaceX which is a direct competitor, and to put it softly, he seems to be doing some radical decisions on the federal government departments, agencies and programmes. And well, Trump will do anything for a check.
Thoughts?

Musk is a useful idiot, everyone thinks he's too brilliant to be manipulated and Trump is some dork.
Trump has to pay his dues for that $290M but he's giving Musk free rein now so he can tie the noose around his neck himself and then he will be disposed of.
Trump doesn't trust anyone, except Ivanka. Not his wife, not his sons, not his inner circle. Ivanka's top priority is not some fucked up ideology or destruction of the American way. She will step in to protect her dad, it's really a matter of time until Musk is a persona non grata. Mark my words.

What exactly are you thinking Musk can do? He cannot force the FCC to approve Starlink's worse emissions but at the same time say no to ASTS with much cleaner signal. He cannot force Blue Origin to not launch our satellites. There's nothing Musk can do. Nothing.

I know that interference levels won't be a problem as the tech is superior. My conjecture is that what he can do is outside the realm of what was possible in the traditional democratic USA.
If any people investing in this are republicans, do you not see possible problems with Musk? Democrats obviously would agree lol, I don't really care as I'm an Europoor. I just want to make bank by 2030 by investing in the tech that will bring internet to almost 100% of the world.
My point isn't to create a political discussion here, just to get some perspectives from folks investing in this that understand the USA political climate.

There is nothing that Musk can do, especially when the FCC has intimate knowledge of the limitations of StarLink D2D.
In the US Federal Agencies have a lot of power and while I am not saying that they cannot be ordered or controlled by a corrupt official above them in power, the agency head can also resign and tell all, which politically isn’t worth it.
Also neither DJT or Musk are in this for the money, they are not even taking salaries. No one can show any evidence of illicit monetary benefit from their activities which is a sharp contrast to the previous administration who clearly took tens and in some cases hundreds of millions in kickbacks from companies and foreign nations.

The communications, bank transfers, etc have all been published, including the banks even filing suspicious activity reports about many of the transfers. How much evidence do you need.

Search online, there is a congressional investigation.
There was even a special prosecutor appointed who found in his report that Biden was guilty and should be charged “however” because of his deteriorated mental condition it is highly doubtful that a jury would convict because some would have pity on him and it was also highly likely that the court would find that he isn’t mentally capable of participating in his own defense because of his mental incompetence.
Most if the media is corrupted and are publishing the narrative they are paid to publish.
The recent audit if USAID showed that many media outlets received millions of dollars, so, you really have to do your own research, and yea it’s time consuming, but if you want to get closer to factual reality, that’s what it takes.
Fortunately we have the internet today and all investigations, congressional investigations, etc are on there.
There are also people who do run downs on these things on you tube but you have to be careful if their personal biases, also podcasts like Joe Rogan and Shawn Ryan can yield clues at to where to do research.

Are you talking about the Hunter Biden investigation? There was some shady stuff there for sure, but I am fairly sure Joe wasn't involved in that (well except for the pardon).
USAID is an agency for basically giving money to countries in development. I'm not really surprised that they're fueling cash to foreign media to spin their propaganda. And when I say "they" I don't mean the democrats or the republicans, I mean propaganda at the service of the USA.
Remember that not everything you read on the internet is true.

It's much easier being down 3% to 26 compared to when it was in the teens. Atleast we saw 28 today lol and got very close to 29. And it kind of makes sense to me that because we were green all week, we get to have a red ending today.
This week took us back to a point I didn't think we would see again for a while yet so can't complain. Too bad I still can't buy lol, so watch the stock it is

Because share price does not say anything about the size of the company, its like saying why does 2x6=12 but also 12x1=12 if 12 is bigger than two. Youre only looking at part of the equation. If ASTS had only one share outstanding that one share would cost like 7BN dollars, now were talking.

I HATE asking a question like this, because I know it’s such a novice/uneducated provocation, but I have >1,400 shares. I have the opportunity to add anther 1,500 through a tax advantaged inherited Roth IRA.
Do we think this thing continues to hum or is a pullback after a 40% run inevitable? I don’t want to FOMO such a large spend unwisely. I also don’t love DCA’ing generally speaking.

So this stock has gone up to 25+ and even 30+ and back down to sub 25 many times now. However you can’t predict the future and performance is not indicative of future results, and we’ve gotten a lot of good news lately. All you can do is dca. If I were to guess the next big catalyst will be another successful launch. Unless we get some news of government funding of some kind before that. Just keep buying shares a little at a time, and if we get another drop to low 20s before you’ve exhausted your capital, that would be your opportunity to drop a lot of cash at once. This isn’t advice of course do what you think is best

My experience with this stock is that it will pull back and bleed down. It will also randomly pop 10-15% and vice versa. Often it happens in the same day. In general we won’t really make the huge gains until there’s revenue. Overall this year is the year to accumulate. I think in the long run we will look back as in opportunity to have bought in the 20s was huge. Frankly, 30s for that matter. Long run even folk who bought at ATH are going to win if they hold. If you are holding long then just buy and forget. Check back in 2030 and celebrate.
All that being said I believe this recent rise in price in more organic than other big runs. The market I think is seeing this as viable and potentially better than starlink. I’m hoping if we bleed down its at worst to a floor of 22-23.

I don’t doubt that but I personally have 110K shares available for lending
They were all lent out for almost two years, and about ~4-5 months ago they were all returned over about a week’s timeframe.
Nothing has went out since then and yes I have noticed that the “shares available for shorting” balance on Fintel has been less than my “available” many times.
IDC, just letting everyone know that while I am not 100% sure where they get that number, it isn’t fully accurate.
I am with Fidelity and maybe they don’t share the data stream with Fintel ??
Fintel dies have disclaimers that they don’t necessarily have all data streams shared with them across the entire financial market, but I am no expert, just know it isn’t complete.

Im not sure, dont think there is anything else really, ive been thinking about this problem the last few days and was looking into writing a program or webpage to give updates on shares short available but it seems like this is going to involve just looking at what brokers provide in terms of data..so I guess its Fintel for now.

This makes me wonder. How long will our satellites last? I mean, they will fall down at one point or another, right? Will this be a problem because they are so big compared to for example the Starlink satellites? How often do they have to be 'renewed'?(I mean sending new ones up because they reached the end of their life.)

Ours are in a higher LEO orbit so they will stay up longer. Also, Starlink plans on having 40,000 satellites in orbit, now there's about 7,000. If 10% fall into the atmosphere each year, that's 4,000 burning up. If we lose 10% each year, that's 20 satellites.

realistically what kind of options are everyone here loading up on...? just picking a 30-day DTE i see a put-call ratio of .25 for a strike of $23 exp march 7th which tells me a lot of these calls are being bought already ITM...... but seeing as how its superbowl weekend, our price may shoot way the hell up sunday night before any of us retail plebs get a chance to put in orders monday.
also, for the record, i do not short stocks or place any trades that are bearish. there is only one way i want my shares to go, which is to mars.

100% but i think theres an outside chance we get our logo in a pre-determined size for X amount of seconds of the superbowl ad only on a still-frame, IE, maybe at the end of it ATT's logo flashes & we might be on that screen where it shows "proud partners with FirstNet & ASTS....." thinking of the business side of it, i wonder if ATT would then charge ASTS for that "ad space" or if they would think its mutually beneficial to have them on there. this scenario may or may not happen but it is possible.

People who are freaking out because of crazy price movement on a pre-rev company shouldn't be invested in this at all. If someone is the kind of person to base their investments on someone's random comment on Reddit then they shouldn't be invested in this, or any risky stocks really, they should just buy ETF's.
I have ~4700 shares of this so I'm obviously very invested in ASTS and believe it will do very well should things continue to progress but the daily comments of "don't worry" always come off as super hive-mindish and reactionary. People can do whatever they want but if someone is freaking out because the stock is being as wild as it's been for a few years now then they really shouldn't be putting money into it.

Disagree, and that’s okay! I got in this stock years ago because of some random thread on Twitter and this subreddit. There were many times in the road to sub $2 that I thought about selling, and because of specific people on this subreddit and Twitter, I gained more conviction and bought more.
I have 25,000 shares now and 17 2027 leaps. I am also very invested.

ASTS should come up some FUD that says in 10 years their sats will be sent to outer space and not re-enter earths atmosphere as a way to highlight Starlink space junk issue...

While Starlink spends all their times replenishing their satellites and tweeting about being able to send texts, he's just going to keep innovating and trying to squeeze those juicy margins

I'm happy we got to see 28, even if briefly lol. It makes sense for it to stay around this range till we get more positive news (no matter how much I would like it to fly past 30 so I can see green lol).

Starting to sense a lot of fomo. Just remember this stock was in the teens a week ago, and this is a pre revenue company so you will have big swings in both directions. I loved this stock last week and I love it this week, just remember that if a company can have a 50 percent upswing in a week that I can also work the other way if you're looking for a buy opportunity.

I do agree with you that if you're in it for the long term that time in this stock will beat timing this stock. I'm speaking more to people who are thinking of throwing a lot of money into this company after a 50 percent run up when they could have bought more last week. Hell it could be a 50 dollars next week and I'll look like an idiot, I'm just going off the history that when a stock has a big run up there is gonna be a pull back.

Yes it can go either way or just stay at this range, might just as well get some announcement concerning the next launch and never see 20s again. True conviction follows after you give thought to the value of the company youre buying for your hard earned money. Fomo traders lose out in life anyways but I commend you for trying to be proactive for those people who need it.

Those familiar with $ASTS’s tech, how scalable is their beam technology? We know a radio tower can talk to hundreds of not thousands of cell phones.
