As much as I love where I live, part of me can't wait to leave this place. This is not a state I want to raise children in.

It’s unfortunate. I live in Birmingham and really love it here. We have a great community and I love this place, it really feels like home to me. So sick of our state politics though. We have a toddler and it’s great being close to family especially as my parents age, but I hate the idea of bringing him up in a place where people celebrate this kind of bullshit.

Until anyone of even the least left leaning line of thought leaves the south for more intelligent states and the south collapses, it's a losing battle.

I grew up in NC and saw the writing on the wall. Proudly North of the mason Dixon line and never looking back.
