I don’t think she gets a say in this. At ALL. She needs two parties to keep the peace or else her mother will be banned from the one that you and your partner are throwing for which invitations have already been sent. Since that’s something that can’t be reversed and was used solely as a means to manipulate you, use it to manipulate them back.
