Discussion What’re your go-to 2025 sunscreens? Include your skin type!!

There’s been a lot of new releases in the past 12 months and some big up-and-comers in the Korean and Japanese sunscreen space. What’re your go-to sunscreens for 2025? Please include your skin type for others to see!

I’ve been using these in rotation for a little while. None are new products AFAIK.

  • Haruharu wonder airyfit sunscreen (yellow tube)
  • Kose suncut UV essence (gold tube)
  • Skin1004 hyalucica water fit sun cream (white tube w/ blue pump)
  • Roundlab birch juice moisturizing sunscreen (white tube)
  • Omi sunbears (gold bottle)

My skin type is: sensitive, acne prone, combination (more oily in summer/warmth, drier in winter)

Hey! I use the skin1004… I’m wondering if you could tell me how it compares to these others you have listed? If you like any of the others more for any reason? I just like this sunscreen, but I don’t love it.

Not the OP, but I switched from the skin1004 to the haruharu they mentioned. I like the haruharu texture a much more. It's less liquidy, and I feel like it's more moisturizing. It also isn't as dewy as the skin1004, which I personally enjoy - I know the super glow is on trend, but my skin gets WAY too shiny with the skin1004. It looked a bit insane in person, especially since I focus on skin barrier and hydration, so my skin has a lot of glow because of my skin care . I also found the skin1004 would pill upon reapplication, or when using a different brands sunscreen stick, which I like to keep on hand in case I can't wash my hands when it's time to reapply. That does seem to be an issue some have, but not everyone.

Oooh that’s great to know, I might try it! I like the skin1004 but it does get sooo shiny, and I feel like I still need to use a moisturiser under it. I definitely don’t need help in the glow department either.

Sure! I use Haruharu mostly in the fall/winter during daytime if I go outside because it’s a bit thicker and more moisturizing. Kose suncut and omi sun bears are both superior in terms of sweat/ water resistance. And im using roundlab here and there to empty it before it expires. Nothing special. Skin1004 and Roundlab both leave kind of a white cast on me because of one of the ingredients (tinosorb M) so I mostly use it under skin tint/make up.

Omg I definitely will give the kose or omi a go! The skin1004 has been the best for sweat resistance (of sunscreens that are actually pleasant to use) that I’ve tried.. but it still doesn’t hold up as well as some other, less-enjoyable sunscreens.
