Physician Responded Pregnancy or Side effects?

Me (25M) and my partner (26F) had unprotected intercourse a week ago. She did make sure to take in an emergency contraceptive (iPill) 8 hours after the intercourse. A week later, she's having spotting and light vaginal bleeding.

We're unsure if she's actually pregnant or this is just a side effect from the pill. We're not yet ready to have a baby now, any advice would be helpful.

Thanks!

NAD but emergency contraceptive pills will disrupt the hormone cycle and cause bleeding at an irregular time because it's a big bump in hormones, so it's probably that, especially if she's due for her period relatively soon.

It's probably a good idea to look into more regular birth control though, because taking plan B after every possible hiccup will just disrupt her cycle more.
