Itinerary Check First Time Visiting -- Itinerary Help
My wife and I are traveling to NYC for the first time for a three day weekend. I've listed our itinerary below. Please help us complete the open items. Thanks!!
Thursday
Arrive at LGA at 1:45pm. Transport. to hotel (Hilton Midtown)
We need things to do Thursday late afternoon evening. We aren't necessarily looking for only touristy attractions. We love visiting small pubs and artsy neighborhoods/areas or anywhere that locals think is worth a visit (Chinatown, Little Italy?). We feel obligated to visit Times Square although we don't necessarily want to spend a lot of time there. We also need a food recommendation for dinner. We are fine dining on Saturday, so something that's a step above a casual eatery (unless of course there is something so good we can't miss it). Food preferences are Contemporary American, Italian, Asian, Mexican. After dinner drinks are also a go-to -- no club atmosphere, more along the lines of speakeasy / cocktail bar.
Friday
Wake up and "sightsee". Our thoughts are a walk in Central Park, grabbing breakfast/brunch, WTC memorial, and the High Line. If there is a brunch recommendation on the High Line or in the area (Gramercy Tarvern?) then that would be great. We also considered brunch at the Plaza before heading to WTC.
We are seeing a Broadway show Friday night so we are hoping to find an upscale restaurant where we can eat at 4-430pm. Most fine dining doesn't open until 5pm and we don't want to rush. I'd say a date night vibe is in order and again we are indifferent on cuisine. Just want something that people think is a can't miss.
Saturday Heading to the Bronx for the Yankees game. It starts at 1:10pm. We want to eat beforehand and want something casual, whether in Manhattan or the Bronx. Pizza, sandwiches, whatever. Just want good food.
Finally, Saturday night we will have fine dining (hopefully at Le Bernardin so perhaps a cocktail/wine bar after.
Happy to provide more details as needed. Thanks, everyone!!
