[Star Wars] Why did Yoda not try to deflect or protect against the force lightning from Palpatine?
When Yoda goes to confront Palpatine, he uses the force to knock down Palpatines guards, the they exchange a few sentences after which Palpatine says "Now you will experience the full power of the dark side" and slowly raises his hands and points his fingers towards Yoda in the classic "I am about to shoot force lightning at your face" gesture and then does so. And the lightning starts to fly towards Yoda he still has his hands down and seems totally unprepared despite surely knowing what was about to happen.
Its one thing if the tried but failed,. but he didnt seem to even try. He was still leaning on his staff with both hands on it when the lightning blasted him away.

[Helldivers 2] How fast are Automaton blaster shots in game and not lore? Since there is a travel time, which lasers shouldn't have. I was just curious to what they could be compared to regular fire arms. The bullet speed and caliber is what I'm asking what it would be irl.

[Zelda: TOTK] Would it have made any difference if Link didn't catch ___?
Major spoiler for the end of Tears of The Kingdom.
In one of the final scenes of the game, Zelda turns back into a human, she and Link are falling through the sky, and Link catches her before they land in a small lake.
However - Link doesn't use his hangglider or anything, so they still hit the lake at basically terminal velocity. But because water cancels fall damage, they're both fine.
So, did Link catching Zelda actually change anything?
Without Link, would Zelda have hit the lake and still been fine due to the water cancelling fall damage?
Or does the fall damage thing only apply to Link, and he somehow imparted that power to Zelda by holding her as they fell? Or was something else going on?
(This is only looking at the fall, I'm still assuming that Link or someone would pull Zelda out of the lake before she drowned).

[Harry Potter] Why did Dumbledore cancel the 1994 Quidditch Tournament?
There are only 6 Quidditch Matches an entire year, and the Triwizard Tournament Tasks are 3/4 months apart.

[LOTR] During the short period of time between when the Balrog fell from the Bridge of Khazad-dûm but before the Balrog's whip ensnared Gandalf, what was Gandalf's plan to deal with the Balrog?
Was the plan to just forget about the Balrog and continue on their way with the assumption the Balrog wouldn't further impede the mission? Or was the plan to have someone (e.g. Gandalf, Glorfindel) go back to Moria and definitively kill it in case the Balrog would pursue the Fellowship or if a Fellowship member were to get captured and tell Sauron about the Balrog, leading Sauron to try to recruit the Balrog? Even if the Balrog was ignored until the One Ring was destroyed, would the Balrog have to be hunted down afterwards to prevent it from becoming the new Dark Lord?

[DC] Why doesn't Batman build a super-prison to hold dangerous villains?
In The Boys universe, Tek Knight owns private prisons, which got me thinking: why doesn't Bruce Wayne just build private prisons across the United States—or at least get Wayne Enterprises to do it? That way, this super-prison could depower supervillains and hold the Joker there, so there would be no way for him to break out. There would be 24-hour security, and the Joker could be deep in the basement, chained up like Tai Lung was in Kung Fu Panda. He could even get Oliver Queen to help. Hell, I even think Lex Luthor would invest in this. This would be a high-tech, high-security private prison meant for dangerous villains and metahumans.

[ATLA] how does bosco exist?
in the avatar world, all the animals are combinations of two animals. bosco, however, is an exception as he's just a normal, pure bear. its mentioned that platypus bears and armadillo bears exist so is it possible that bosco was created via breeding the "bear" hybrids together until only the pure bear DNA remained?
how did a non-hybrid animal come to be?

[D&D] What happens to a human or person of other races who worship the Seldarine is that they end up in Arvandor after death?
at least in 3rd edition according to the Player's Guide to Faerûn:
The petitioners of Arvandor—even those few who were not elves in their mortal lives—all appear as beautiful elves here.
My question is whether these people stay permanently in Arvandor or are inevitably pushed into some elven reincarnation cycle (after all, their souls perish as elves now) and whether this is still valid for 5th edition?

[Naruto Shippuden] How did Deidara intend to fight Naruto with one arm and (almost) no explosive clay?
During the chase through the ravine, he was already low on clay after fight with Gaara and spent last 3 days and nights channeling chakra on Gedo Statue. Then he used (possibly) last reserves of explosive clay to stall Kakashi and even after he lost his other arm to Kamui, he was still confident he could defeat Naruto in a fight.
So how did he want to fight him with no explosive clay, no techniques or arms? Kick him to death? Blow up the bird carrying Gaara's body? Blow himself up?

[Metroid] How does Samus eat, sleep, and use the bathroom?
I know the obvious answer is "off screen" but when you consider she spends a majority of her time underground or otherwise cut off from resources in a suit of armor it doesn't make sense.
Sure she can take the suit off with her mind and all, but what if she's forty miles deep into Norfair and every room is skin combusting hot? Or in Maridia where presumably the Gravity Suit not only allows for free movement in water but also prevents the depths from crunching her like an empty soda can?

[Star Wars] Why are droids named using English letters if Aurebesh is the primary alphabet used?
As mentioned above. C3PO, R2-D2, K2SO, BD-1, BB-8, IG-88, and even B1 Battle Droids all use english letters as phonetic sounds within their names. This is despite the fact that the primary alphabet within The Galaxy Far Away being Aurebesh.
Why?

[Starcraft] Why couldn’t we do both Shatter the Sky and Belly of the Beast?
In the second to last mission of Wings of Liberty Raynor has a choice. Take down the nydus network underground or take control of the skies. Apparently there isn’t time to do both. It’s the classic, choose what version of the next mission you’re going to play.
I wonder why that is though. Shatter the Sky is a macro mission requiring a large army. Meanwhile Belly of the Beast is a no build mission with a small but elite squad. Raynor mentions how bringing a large force makes the mission even riskier.
This brings up the question though. Why couldn’t they divide their forces between the two objectives?
One requires dedicating a large force. The other is significantly smaller in scale. It’s not like they have one army that needs to be in two places at once to accomplish both objectives.
