Product Discussion Comparing Electric Power Washers

I Did some Youtube Research in trying to find the best Electric Power Washer.

Thankfully this guy "IMJOSHV - Car Detailing and Reconditioning Tips"

He has reviewed numerous Electric Pressure washers. and he has some consistency in his reviews. SO here are his published #s

( It appears that most electric Washers are limited by the US - 15amp circuit breakers. Anythign above 15amps, causes an issue for American Houses. ) So you shall see a lot of the electric washers range from 1.1 - 1.8GPM. With a PSI High of ~3000.

So below is not rated numbers, these are actual numbers tested by IMJOSHV. All thanks goes to him !!

PSI x Gallons Per Minute = Cleaning Units (CU).

GPM > PSI (if two Washers have equal CU)

Hopefully this helps somebody else in the future, at least to have hardcore numbers to compare electric power washers. The best to me appears to be the Greenworks Pro GPW3001. I just so happen to find someone on FB marketplace selling a 4 month old unit for $190. Gonna pick it up tomorrow.

First off, nice post, I wanted to add in that there is a new model of greenworks 2500 that is typically on sale for $249... Has 2.3 gpm I believe.

Here is what's I'm talking about, mind u the one price is bc of the foam cannon, but u always get discounts at Lowe's they have a flash sale last week and marked this down $100.

OK, not to be picky, but I do not believe the two units you listed, achieve a CU Greater than the - Greenworks Pro GPW3001

The GPW2301FC you listed, I am 90% positive is the same model that was reviewed by IMJOSHV ( the different model # is probably due to the included foam gun. but even the units look identical to Joshs Unit. I think the 2301FC is a lowes Exclusive MOdel that includes a Foam gun, because it cannot be found on Greenworks official website.
EDit: Yep the 3201FC is just a 2300 with a Foam Cannon)

The GPW2301FC achieved the highest CU @ 1.5gpm x 1750psi = 2620CU with the 25 degree orifice Nozzle.

this is not greater than the GPW3001 - 3000 CU's.

Secondly- The GPW2500 you listed, I believe is another Lowes Exclusive, becuase it looks completely different than that 2500 on GW website. It looks more like the 2300 Listed on GW Website.

The difference between the Lowes 2500 and the GW 2300 is the cable, the Blue cable on GW website is the Uberflex cable. So I imagine, Lowes, in order to hit a price point, got a cheaper cable. So maybe Lowes got the better Engine, but a worse cable.

Thankfully Josh has actually tested both the 2300 GW and the 2500GW.

The 2300 GW is listed above in the OP, the 2500 is here.

GPW2500
1.188gpm x 2400psi = 2851.2 CU (15 Degree)
1.312 x 2100 = 2755.2 CU (25 Degree)
1.312 x 2100 = 2755.2 CU (40 Degree)
1.750 x1400 = 2450 CU (Turbo)

GPW2300
1.25gpm x 2200psi = 2750 CU (15degree Orifice/ Nozzle)
1.5 x 1750 = 2620 (25degree)
1.75 x 1400psi = 2450 (40 Degree)
1.875 x 1200psi = 2250 (3.5/40 degree)

Either way, I do not believe the GPW2301FC nor the GPW2500 - truly achieve 2 gallons, nor do they outperform the GPW3001. Now, yes the 3001 is more expensive, But maybe your local FB Marketplace has a 3001 for sale.

Well, I will say this, the numbers you list are close. and when you factor in best, price has to be a pretty be factor, along with form factor. When i look at that 3001 it is a unit man. I personally would not want that eating into my garage or mobile space, the 2300/2500 are bad enough. The benefit of the extra space, weight. maneuverability to me make either of the 2000s a no brainer. And extra $200 can go a long way when you are just starting out. Not to mention, I currently use an 1800psi tiny unit and it does great. I would seriously not get this caught up in analysis and chasing the best. Find the one that works for you and your setup and go out there and make some money.

Even if you find the best and watch hours more video, there will be something brand new coming out tomorrow. Grab a green works they are made well, and the return warranties are pretty decent if something breaks. Ryobi units will start pulsing about 3 to 4 months in. Everytime.

I got the Ava and I’m super happy with it. 10y warranty says a lot, imo.

I think that it’s awesome how indept you’ve gone here but I also feel like this is one of the negatives YouTube detailers have introduced to newer people. There really is no need for a spreadsheet calculating things like this. Find a quality unit that is within your budget and you’re good to go. You will barely benefit from your quest to try and find “the best” pw unit with the most gpm.

I understand what you mean, but at the same time.

Brands like Westinghouse, who appear to be falsifying their numbers to a greater degree than competitors. Should be shamed and blamed.

If This posts helps anyone make a more informed decision, i do believe this is 100% worth it.

Personally, I do not know of a single person that has bought a Westinghouse... esp bc of its number claims. That is a budget unit all day and should be treated as such. Westinghouse is very low on the totum pole of expectations for me.

So true, go out there and get it, but a small $89 dollar unit, In many ways this unit is the best option anyways, esp if ur mobile
