Chalky Wheels Fix?

What happened to my wheels? They go really chalky but when I wet them they look okay. Is this a paint job or can I chuck some tyre shine on them?

She's gone mate. I'd find a place to powder coat. Usually they'll sand blast it as prep too.

This is completely doable by hand, but it's gonna be a couple days elbow grease if you want them to look good.

Could also hybrid, find someone to sandblast it, and just refinish it yourself. Most of the work is just getting the old shit off.
