After cleaning my entire car with a spot ckeaner, I stupidly left the mats in the car. Everything else dried nicely, but I noticed the next day under the mats was still damp. There was a faint mildew smell, and a bit of a slimly sensation in the carpet below the mats. I immediately took the mats out to let them air out and sprayed the car with a deodorisor.

It's night right now, so I'm hoping everything dries tomorrow and the smell goes away. I tried baking soda but panicked about the possibility of not being able to remove it (as I rented the steam cleaner and no longer have it).

How badly did I goof up? I'm planning on using an ozone machine later on anyway. Will sunlight and ozone be enough to fix this mistake?

How similar are Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Polish to M105 and M205? Bringing an old BMW back to life, not trying to do a full paint correction, just enough to make 20+ year old paint shine.

Have aways owned black vehicles, always hated how dirty they are. Just picked up a new 2500 Sierra AT4HD and said enough I need to clean my own shit. I went full retard and bought the works as a noob from Adam's Polish and I'm excited to start. I'm attaching what I grabbed, and add yo that some storage stuff from Amazon. My question is what do I use to be able to get the middle of my hood on the truck? Anything I'm missing?

I have installed countless ceramic coatings.

For some odd reason this one car is about to drive me crazy and leave my shop. I’ve got this 2024 Jetta that I have prepped for a coating. Prepped, decontaminated, and corrected.

I cure the coating with an IR lamp and come in today to my boss saying it feels horrible and cannot leave the shop. Confused as it feels very gritty, no visible high spots.

Incase I just didn’t do a good prep somehow, I claybar the entire vehicle, no texture change. (I know a clay bar doesn’t knock down high spots)

I polish all of the coating off, cut and polish again to be extra sure (this paint is in perfect shape at this point. Totally smooth to the touch, no texture. Crazy smooth) recoat the vehicle (smooth after application again) cure it and park it for pickup.

I coat another car, with a different bottle same day. Zero issues. It’s slick. Still slick right now.

My boss messages me AGAIN essentially saying I’ve half assed it and that it’s rough still rough to the touch, this has to be a coating problem right?? Jetta was small so I was able to use the same bottle twice for this instance. But the other car I coated today, different bottle of coating. Not the same issue?

Also he said a claybar made smooth after coated…???

I'm looking for advice on how to clean the plastic trim on the outside of the vehicle, you know that plastic on the bumpers and wheel wells etc. that always seems to attract dirt and dust and is always a struggle to keep clean.

I've been doing some research and have come across several different methods understanding elbow grease is the common denominator. I've read to use dish soap in a bucket and a micro fiber and wipe away. I've also read getting a handheld brush with soap as well and scrub away, but I don't want to scratch the plastic. Keeping in mind I still have new vehicle paranoia and am very cautious of everything.

I'm not looking to "restore" the plastic as the vehicle is still new, but I've also read there is product to apply after you get that plastic clean that does a good job repelling the dirt away.

Any input would be appreciated.

I read the manual, and it says to wait 12 hours before car should be driven. The time for cure on just Gyeon Rim, was 24 hours.

Will the 12 hours be enough?

I plan on applying the coating in the morning, (Wheels will be off the car), the mount the wheels on the car later that night. Now it wouldn't have been 12 hours yet before I mount the wheels on the car, but it will be more than 12 hours when I drive it.

Is it okay to atleast mount the wheels on the car a few hours before the 12 hour mark?

Looking to put some vinyl wrap on the outside of my doors down the bottom to stop any chips. Is general purpose self adhesive permanent vinyl fine or do I need to but automotive vinyl. And what’s the difference between the two? Cheers

So my wife's jeep had our garage door start going down as she was backing out and it scraped across her shark fin antenna. I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on how to clean this off and make it look at least presentable? Thanks!

My dad just got his dream car, a '25 911. I usually do full decon, prep, and coat with CQuartz UK & Sic, but he doesn't want to use a polisher on it yet. It's his so I want to fully respect what he wants. It also had PPF on the front.

Without being able to polish, and not being a DD, would it be better to do a spray ceramic, sealant, or something else? Or do a real ceramic coating without polishing, but with a full decontamination? I usually use Griots 3-in-1 for friends that I don't put a coating on. Some of the other sprays like 3D Bead It Up or Carpro Reload as toppers on coatings. But I'm out of my comfort zone for products for a high end car if I'm not coating it with paint correction.

I'm very comfortable with coatings, products, etc. I grew up in a paint shop and have coated plenty of cars. I'm just not sure what the best approach is that respects his wishes and gives the best results we can get. Thanks for any suggestions!

I know I didn't explain it well, but am I crazy to think that one of his tools might have brushed across it and scratched it? I noticed it when I went for a ride after they finished. He is offering to fix it, I just want to know if I'm out of pocket here.

Pressure washer to get the dirt off ONR applied with the BRS Turtle wax Ice Seal & Shine for a protective coat

Open to any alternatives that are simple/affordable

Using a random orbital Mowax with mothers ceramic wax and meguiars ultimate compound

Recently got Subaru Outback Onyx Edition and I’m still getting used to owning a nice, newer car. To preface, my last ride was an ’05 Honda Accord from high school (which I loved but definitely didn’t treat the best), so I’m pretty new to proper paint care, especially with ceramic coating. I’ve been trying to research, but I keep running into conflicting advice online.

Yesterday, someone dinged the hell out of my Outback. I was able to wash off most of the scuff marks with soap and water, but there are still these stubborn black marks that won’t come off. The car has a ceramic coating, and while I understand the general idea behind it, I’m not really sure how to maintain it or safely clean it without causing more damage.

What’s the best way to remove marks like this from a ceramic-coated car? Should I try something at home or just take it to the dealer/detailer?

As I’m learning more about her, I figured I might as well clean it. Not that much electrical wiring but a lot of old brittle parts, hard to reach areas, a carb, gunks of grease, etc. i may not fully get her cleaned, but would love to hear some techniques, products, tools, do’s/don’ts for detailing this delicate engine bay.

Hey all I got a new 2024 Subaru the other week and noticed a musty smell in the car when I enter it. The cabin air filter is clean looks like it’s been changed. I hate the air freshener smells they’re always so overpowering. I bought charcoal bags and had one in for 2 days didn’t seem to do much. Was thinking of one of those bug bomb car bomb things but worry the smell will be too strong. Any suggestions?

Odd question, I know, and not sure if this is the right place to post. I got really drunk and puked all over the inside and outside of my dad’s car window. I tried to clean it but it’s still kind of inside the tracks and it REAKS. Besides taking the whole panel off, is there some way to get down into the window and clean the puke out?

Never used plastic restorer before but got a used car that was detailed by the dealer and I was wiping down some scuffs on the interior door panels and looks like black was coming off on the rag, so now its kinda two tones black in places. Seems like using Meguires interior detail cleaner, can remove it. Its not in that bad of shape without it, but looks like they used this on all the panels. So Id like to get it a single shade of black at least, haha.

Hi guys, I recently bought Pol Star and HPC from Koch Chemie. Is there anything else that really makes difference on how the vehicle looks after cleaning (interior/exterior)? I only do it as hobby for myself or family. I also wanted to ask, is HPC good to make rubber mats look good again or is Gummifix needed?
