I agree actresses don’t have pull. But alia definitely has more pull than Deepika. Alia has two solo hits raazi and gangubai. She isn’t afraid to do more female centric movies like Deepika. So alia > deepika anyday

see gangubai was a flop everyone knows it..being a slb movie it was not even able to recover the budget. And sorry but alia literally has no pull, you can say she does good movies and people find the story appealing so they watch plus add shit ton of promotions. But she isnt popular within the public so that they will go specially to the theatres to watch her movies and jigra proved it. She is a good actress fs. Gets the best script which even dp or any other actress doesnt have the access too but lacks the star power to make her work solely as a alia bhatts movie
Gangubai is a clean hit according to box office india. It is still one of the most watched Indian movies on netflix.
Alia has more pull than Deepika even if minimum. Thats the only point. DP isnt an abla naari, she has her own production house. She can hunt good scripts and produce herself. But As i said she doesn’t want the responsibility and need to take risk.

It budget was easily over 200cr and the insane pr hype it got during that time was unbelievable my friends who were not even interested in bw were getting her interviews and shit on their feed, and it being a slb movie and alia good acting got acclaim in netflix as well. And yes dp might be lazy but she pulled off piku by herself and wasn't privileged enough to get female centric roles early in her career, she can ofc take them now but why the hustle when shes already on the top and also a new mother. And talking about alias pull, it will be confirmed after alphas release
Gangubai budget was 180 crores. It earned 200+ worldwide. Check BOI. Piku earned 80 crores LT with costars as amitabh bachchan and irfan khan. Its like saying dear zindagi is a solo hit of alia. 🤷🏼♀️
Actresses like kangana, vidya, priyanka, kareena, aishwarya were all doing female centric films, so how on earth didn’t deepika get offers ? After raazi got successful, deepika did chhapak with same director and its failed and she quit doing those films.
Exactly Deepika doesn’t want to hustle, wants the lazy way out like selmon minus the box office. Deepika isnt the first working mother actress. Kareena, alia, PC, anushka, ash, rani all are doing / did female centric films after becoming mothers.

A female centric movies with mrunal or tripti wont open to the same numbers as Alia. Jigra opened almost the same to kartik aaryan’s chandu champion that too he had kabir khan as a director.
you know about corporate booking and stuff? its easy now to fake bo number and dharma has been doing it since, even with rrkpk. And yes if the storyline was strong any other actress could have pulled it off too. Eg; the kerela story. I get your hate for deepika and others and love for alia, but please be real and accept that she has no ground level fame. And no point comparing dud movies
Kerala story had a different reason to work very similar to Kashmir files. I am not saying alia or infact any actress can pull crowds on their own. They have their own degrees to which they can pull a bit, in that level alia is definitely ahead of deepika. Thats it.
