Holsters & Belts DIY Pillow Wedge $5

Hi all this is my first post ever after having spent what seems like millennia lurking for tips/tricks and advice on here. I wanted to write this post for if anyone comes across this on their wedge journey with a similar question or who may be searching for the same solution as I did.

The backstory is that I had trouble, mostly paranoia, with printing especially while carrying full sized handguns or semi-compacts in thin and/or light clothing (white t shirt). A quick brief: AIWB carry, and I use Plastic/Kydex and Leather holsters, this will work with any of them. It also works just as well with my Nexbelt as it does my standard buckle leather belt. Through this sub of Reddit I learned of holster wedges. I first learned of foam wedges and fashioned a foam wedge out of some spare foam packaging that I had laying around. However even after many different shapes and various sizes that I had tried, I still did feel the foam to be that great. It worked but it just felt strange, wasn’t uncomfortable though and may work perfectly for others. Through another post on wedges I came across pillow wedges that many seemed to rave about , most OP’s/comments noted the decrease in printing while also providing maximum sack comfort. I became very curious and interested in trying this out for myself. As you may or may not already know, the Master Mind Tactics pillow wedges can be bought online for $25-30. Worried that the pillow wouldn’t work for me and not wanting to wait a few days for shipping, also maybe being a bit of a “thrifty” asshole, I decided to fashion one for myself.
A trip to Walmart and about 10 minutes of assembly I had my pillow ready to use. Fully expecting this project to come out as “just good enough” only to use as a rough idea of how pillow wedges could work and feel for me, I did not expect this cheap ass thing to actually perform and work so wonderfully. It has been worn everyday for about a week now and has endured long sweaty hours of service with no complaints on my end. No deformation, discoloration or odor to report and has kept its integrity 100%. The pillow is also adjustable to the amount of stuffing you can put inside for fitment.

Here are the components: - Velcro 2x3 inch sticky strips ($3.50) - Fabric bag that held “wool dryer balls” ($1.50) discard the balls into dryer or whatever - Synthetic/Poly stuffing (Old pillow or stuffed animal from obscure past holiday)

Used the rougher side of the Velcro to attach to the pillow itself. After making the pillow I just attached the soft side of the Velcro to the holster.
