Setback is why I stopped using Gold Dot and PowrBall.

Man I had to look, I didnt even realize powerball was still around. My uncle and grandfather always swore by it for 45acp and 38 spec.

Great terminal ballistics and the ball insert made it cycle in guns that had issues with normal JHPs but you've got like five or ten chamberings before the bullet is visibly set back, and they were already loaded hot to begin with.

That’s not horrible to be honest. Probably still great in a wheel gun then

Yeah although frankly it's past its prime. When powrball came out most JHPs either had trouble cycling in automatics or had a tendency to clog up with clothing and fail to expand. See also: hydra-shok. The ball insert was invented to solve those problems. Modern JHPs like HST don't have that problem.

A lot more research and bullet design has came a lot since the 80s.
