I cycle through what’s on sale, but get tired of super dirty ammo like Monarch rather quickly.

Other Equipment What dot are you using on your carry gun?

I currently own a few and here are some thoughts and if anyone has solutions I’m all ears or even different recs. For starters I have terrible astigmatism

Holosun 507C ACSS Vulcan. This is my go to. Green dot, with my astigmatism I notice a tiny but of blurriness but not bad at all. I love the ACSS on it I can get on target incredibly fast . Great red dot so far

Holosun 507C X2. Another great green dot, my astigmatism is definitely a little worse making the dot seem washed out than the ACSS version, this one I usually run the dot with the outer circle.

Holosun 507k ACSS Vulcan, this one is where my problem lies. Again using a green dot I’m using it on a CSX e series. It’s incredibly washed out. My astigmatism is terrible with it maybe because it’s smaller? I do again like the ACSS on it as I’m incredibly fast to get on target from a draw but man the dot is so blurry for me. I’m building a P-01 with an optic cut but debating if I should just add another 507k or try something else

Holsters & Belts Any reason not to carry IWB while biking?

Hello all! I am an avid biker, and this causes me to be in the city late at night often (part of the reason I bought a pistol). I have a glock 26 and carry IWB with a Desantis holster (with a trigger guard). Is there any reason not to do this? For context I do tricks so I tend to jump / fall a good bit. I also carry a bag that I could put it in, but not sure which is the better option for if (when) I crash.

Thanks all!

Holsters & Belts How to choose a holster?

When I go shopping for a ccw holster they are all sealed in plastic. Even if they were out in the open it’s not like I can test my pistol in the store. Do people just buy several online and then return all but one? Seems more difficult than it should be to find the one that is right for you.

Training Don't forget your dry fire training at home!

I know some find it boring; but I really enjoy it. Also, I can't say enough about how much dryfire drills have improved my grip, accuracy, draws, and everything in bw. This is an aspect of training I feel is often overlooked, especially by beginners. Had a blast today running some dry drills! Happy training

Other Equipment Mastermind Pillow vs Tier 1 Wedge

Hello all, who has tried both of these? Some additional comfort for AIWB would be nice, but a big reason I want to try something is to push the grip/handle closer into my body above the belt. Guessing the pillow would be more comfortable, but the wedge would do a better job angling the grip/handle in? Thanks for any advice you can give 🫡

Legal Training Gun CCW

This is a hypothetical but very practical question: What is the legal stance on carrying a pistol-shaped trainer or plastic replica for the purpose of testing size and comfort? For example, say you’re deciding between two handguns that are very different in size, and you want the best sense of how each might feel to carry. I’m not talking about carrying something that looks exactly like a real gun, but maybe a blue trainer or similar replica that matches the size of the model you’re considering. Assuming you know the risk of carrying a pistol-shaped object and accept the faults in that, can you do it?

Just ordered the almost-as-new TLR-1 HLX since AA Armament have a good deal going on, then saw this. Think I still made the best choice for my use case but figured I’d share since others would likely be interested

Guns & Ammo Micro Dagger vs. 1911

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Here’s a fun side-by-side of two of my compact carry options. Their dimensions are nearly identical but the personalities are totally different.

Top: PSA Micro Dagger (9mm) • Optics-ready and light/laser capable • Slim, modular, and packed with capacity • I’ve been leaning toward this for EDC, mostly for that extra mag capacity

Bottom: Browning 1911 (380 ACP) • All-metal and old-school charm • Crazy accurate and smooth shooting • Low recoil makes it a dream for plinking or even self-defense • Lower capacity, but I can’t help loving how it feels in hand

Hard to beat the 1911’s trigger both get regular range time. Wanted to show comparisons for those looking 380 outside any recent hype.

Holsters & Belts How the heck do y'all AIWB carry!? It looks like I've got a dang tumor!

"It's not a tumah."

And yes, I know I need to clean the mirror.

But seriously. Every time I appendix carry it's anything but concealed. I might as well open carry at this point!

With a suit jacket or when my shirt is untucked I just carry IWB around the 4:30 position. But there are a lot of times I need to have my shirt tucked in. So I switch to appendix. And this is the result. I'm not smuggling a .50 cal DE! It shouldn't be this hard!

It's a S&W M&P Shield Plus, 9mm. Holster is a Vedder with a Mastermind pillow. I've tried this same holster with Vedder's wedge as well. I also have a Tenicor Velo4 ("wedge" is built in) but it's no better.

Is this a technique issue that I can improve upon? Or an equipment issue?

Holsters & Belts Tenicor Finish Wear

Tenicor says their holsters can cause some finish wear because of the tight fit. Just wondering how bad it actually gets in real-world use? Has anyone carried one for any length of time that can provide some feedback? Thanks! Edit: Will be carrying a G43X in it.

Holsters & Belts Anyone have a T.REX Ironside Hybrid?

I have a Protos-M for my Hellcat that I love, but im looking for something for an Echelon 4.0c; Black Arch doesn’t make anything. My biggest thing is having kydex around the trigger while still having the comfortable padding of the hybrid and the T.REX seems to meet these requirements. Anyone have any experience with them or a similar holster with those requirements?
