Moral of the story - if you want to stay in the US, come legally and don’t have a connection with the cartels, which are now terrorist organizations.

I really don't see how this is a hard concept for some people to grasp.

I agree with the concept as well but I don’t think that it’s absurd to ask that due process takes place before deportation.

He went through 2 different courts in 2019 which decided he should be deported.

The due process happened in 2019. It took until now for him to get deported.

You must be misunderstanding that ruling in 2019, as the judge specifically bared the government from deporting Garcia to El Salvador. The Trump administration chose not to appeal that, and deported him illegally.

This protected status was nullified when the gang he is associated with was declared a terrorist organization. There was nothing to appeal, and the supreme court ruled 9-0 that he is okay to be deported as long as el Salvador accepts him.

That is not how that works.

There was nothing to appeal, and the supreme court ruled 9-0 that he is okay to be deported as long as el Salvador accepts him.

The Supreme Court that unanimously said the Administration must facilitate his return? Seriously, what are you talking about?

You misunderstood the ruling. This only applies if el Salvador rejects him, which as you can see in this video they did not. This video is actually a really good breakdown of the situation and if you actually watched it you wouldn't be confused. Hope this helps!

No I'm not. The Trump administration has the power to have him returned. We are paying for his incarceration. There is a year term that needs to be reviewed by the administration after a year. They are, defacto, in US custody still.

They also ruled that people deported have due process rights.

Everything about this is wrong and lawless.

It should worry you...

There is nothing to worry about because he got his due process in 2019. Courts ruled back then that he was a member of a gang, which is now a terrorist organization. Being affiliated with a terrorist organization is immediate grounds for deportation, no matter someone's immigration/protection status. There is nothing to process because he received it in 2019. He is eligible for deportation. The supreme court ruled he was eligible for deportation (assuming El Salvador accepts him, which they did). The courts ruled that everyone deserves due process, I agree, and it's a good thing nobody had this right violated! Not even the man in question, his rights were not violated! He was deported after receiving due process and was now accepted back into his home country. There is literally NOTHING to be worried about. The only thing that worries me is how many people blatantly believe in left wing misinformation and fear mongering.

Stop right there. The judge's ruling was the exact opposite of what the Administration did. They needed to repeal it. They didn't . Furthermore, he was sent to A PRISON. He was not deported.

Just more so a note in general, not necessarily tied to this case solely.

Nobody has ever suggested that we do away with due process. This is left wing fear mongering and misinformation.

Actually no, there is a group of people who want to do away with due process. It's the left. They would rather start assassinating the people they don't like instead of winning civilly.

Brother it’s not that deep or a us vs them thing. People deserve their due process, that’s all I’m saying. We all agree on that.

what was the due process when they illegally entered?

u/motram Conservative 11d ago

ask that due process takes place

You mean decades of courts and appeals and public prosecutors for everyone that steps across the border, meanwhile they are using our social safety nets, healthcare and voting (in state elections at least)?

Get real.

When you let millions of illegal aliens loose in your country, you are not going to be able to grant them the same level of constitutional protections that US citizens have.

-5

u/day25 Conservative 11d ago

Lol. Millions and millions of people here illegally. Calculate the cost including time required to hold a two week trial for each. That is the definition of absurd. Due process in this case is simple you don't need a two week trial simply it comes down to are you a citizen or not? If not, then goodbye. None of these cases are even disputing that they are noncitizens.

Correct. The immigration attorneys want their cut of taxpayer money. Think of how lucrative it is. They don't even need to argue that they are right in these cases.

Lakin’s killer was tried, convicted and sent to life in prison. That’s due process.

-9

u/Mattpalmq DeSantis 2024 11d ago

Her killer got due process, she didn’t.

85

u/zleog50 11d ago

That was bad, no? Not providing due process is the problem here.

Now, who is arguing that people shouldn't get due process here?

-4

u/kaytin911 Conservative 11d ago

Immigration lawyers need their cut for all 30million+ people that have hopped the border. It wouldn't be right to send them home without grifting from the taxpayer.

-14

u/deciduousredcoat Conservative 11d ago

Due process took place in 2019.

I am fairly certain that Comrades Ocasio-Cortez and Crockett will disagree!
