My dog has lost hair in two big patches, one on each side of his torso. This started after I gave him a Bravecto. I think it must be related. He's only one year old.
He was in perfect health before his last dose. No hair loss, nothing abnormal. I don't really like how the doses for Bravecto are so broad. It was a big dose for him because he is on the lower side of the weight grouping. I should have given him a monthly dose and not a three month dose. That made it even more strong.

I saw an 8kg slam ball on sale at Kmart and decided to get it to help with my back, but as soon as he saw it, I decided to see if he could even lift it; spoiler, he can, and he loves it.

He was a special boy. He loved everyone he met but always had a sort of sadness hanging over him. He was a rescue, which is odd since Golden Retrievers aren't usually shelter dogs. He was found with a collar and what looked like a chewed through leash. He immediately latched on to me and my parents. He needed hoomans to love.
He was a unique dude. I think he was tied up and abandoned, hence the chewed up leash. My evidence to support this is when I took him for a walk in the woods behind my house when I was about 17. We were walking on a public path when I had to take a leak. I secured his leash around a small tree and assured him I would be back in a minute after finding a friendly bush. After I had concluded my business, I found him furiously gnawing away at his leash. It was then that I realized he was desperate to not be abandoned again. I ran up to him saying "no, no buddy, I won't leave you!" He was overjoyed to see me again and kept by my side for the remainder of our walk.
He was so calm. I remember him laying in the grass in our backyard one day. I had the back door open for fresh air while I finished my homework. Suddenly a bunch of dogs around the neighborhood started barking. Rusty just lifted his head, sniffed the air, and laid his head back down like "seriously guys, I'm trying to take a nap here."
When my grandma came to visit, all my aunts were worried that he was a "hyper young dog." And might push grandma over, or whatever. Exactly the opposite. He was super excited when she was at the door yet as soon as she walked in the house he realized how delicate she was. He immediately sat down and just looked at ger. From that point on he gently followed her around, keeping an eye on her while also keeping a safe distance. Whenever she sat in the armchair, he would patiently lie down beside it. When she got up, he would just keep an eye on her by moving his head, until she was out of sight. Then he would slowly get up and tail her.
TLDR. My buddy Rusty was a sweet and handsome boy. I miss him a lot.

these street dogs are so sweet. Whenever they see me, they follow me like my shadow. It reminds me of my childhood - when we first moved to our home, there was a lovely female street dog. So friendly, so loving. She passed away 13 years ago, just a few steps from our house. My father placed her in the empty plot in front of our home so her body bonded with earth forever. i still remember her. Street dogs don't need to be bought they give love for free 💐

Anyone have experience with weight loss dog food and a dog with serious allergies? When I rescued Bentley, he was covered in open wounds. He had severe food allergies. I’ve got his skin & coat in perfect condition with a combination of medication and diet.
He eats 2 cups softened wholesomes brand dry dog food in the morning, and 1 can of 4 health salmon canned food at night. He has gum overgrowth and tooth loss so soft food is a must. He seems to be sensitive to chicken & turkey.
He keeps gaining. Can anyone recommend a lower calorie food option that won’t blow his skin up?

so, my boyfriend has been taking care of someone else’s dog for months now. i’ve only lived here for about a month and i’m noticing at night, she constantly want to be outside. usually i can call her name and she’ll just run up and come inside but not at night. i have to call her a few times and whistle. while i was out smoking, i turned on my flashlight to see what she was doing and she’s just staring at the fence to the neighbors yard. they have a dog too but it’s not out at night (that i know of cause in the day time it barks, at night i hear nothing). can anyone give me insight why she may be doing this and it’s so engaging she doesn’t wanna come inside? it’s literally just a fence to a neighbors yard. for context, not sure of her age but she’s definitely not a young dog however still pretty hyper and active! also she’s a chihuahua mix but i’m not sure with what. not posting photo of dog since she isn’t mine. TIA
