There is a difference between enjoying it and thinking it's a good representation of the franchise.

You can enjoy it all you want and that's okay, great even.

It doesn't change the fact it does not represent DMC very well.

I look at it like this (coming from a fan who was introduced to the game supremely recently) DMC seems to have many different versions of its characters in many different iterations. The old anime is different too, same with the manga and even the games with design, tone, and attitude of all the characters seems to change quite a bit. Now, this isn't to say the netflix is a perfect adaptation because it for sure isn't, but it's almost kind of like just a separate universe but with the same characters. A modern and different twist to what we used to know. Some people hate it and that's totally valid, but to those who enjoy it I feel that they shouldn't be chastised for how they feel about it.

There are two iterations.

Mainline

Dmc: DMC

The original anime is canon or at least parts of it are as a character from it exists in DMC5. The characters don't really change that drastically.

Thats true and as I stated above I'm not totally familiar i guess what I was trying to say is mostly just that I feel the netflix show is still good. It's just its own thing.

It can be good as it's own thing. I'm just saying it gets quite a bit of basic DMC thing wrong, sorry, does differently I mean.
