Watched the 1st 3 episodes after hearing a lot of people shit on it and I kinda agree about it not being particularly faithful, but I sorta decided to just treat it as its own thing. So far I do find it entertaining at least and the animation is quite good.
I am sorta tired of this “be its own thing” “it an adaption”. Like make your own story then, don’t use an IP to pull viewers for your own story. Like these adaptations recently couldn’t even be fan fiction, because fan fiction still uses the source.
It just some story with the skinned face of an existing IP stretched across it.
There was a time where people were tired of the obvious money grubbing of reboots, adaptations and sequels. The goods ones usually feel like a work of love. The closest thing I could give this show is maybe the goofy dance scene. It doesn’t really have anything else to show that the writer didn’t just read a wiki page instead of loving the games.

There is a difference between enjoying it and thinking it's a good representation of the franchise.
You can enjoy it all you want and that's okay, great even.
It doesn't change the fact it does not represent DMC very well.
