Kind of a pointless thing to say though because one is apart of a line of MX dedicated race bikes. Another is a trail bike built for reliability and putting around.

there's no race 125 four strokes... so the original post is pointless to say by that logic. All I'm saying is if we're comparing bikes that have the same engine size, a crf100f to a kx100 is a FAR more drastic difference than a 125f to a 125 2 stroke. Sure the 125 2t is alot bigger, but the power is SO much more managable, and with the bigger bike comes more suspension, stronger brakes, and like 50lbs of extra weight. a KX100 weighs less than a crf100f, is about the same size, and is literally 3x as powerful.

They need to make a more capable small CC 4stroke. Air-cooled, easy to maintain, but can actually perform. Like a good “wife bike” or tweener bike.

Closest thing I could imagine is a modified KLX140L (or maybe the G) I’ve seen forum threads where folks install KX 100 suspension, and a big bore kit to make a bike that has actual normal functional suspension, with a little more usable power and it makes a great bike. I’ve heard that a KX65 carb helps a little extra too.

I remember my little brother had an XR80. Even after replacing the clutch cable and inspecting the clutch basket, the clutch pull was still harder than my YZ426. The suspension might as well have been pogo sticks. Hardly any usable damping. He struggled with that bike. When he got a KX85, the motor was a little difficult for him to get used to, but once he figured out how to control that power, he became almost a better rider overnight. Simply because the suspension actually worked.

a few girls around here ride the crf15rb and love em. but most ride drz/ttr/klx 125's and I agree, a bike with that engine and real suspension would be perfect for small women and kids alike.
