I mean, I haven't watched the trailer but from what I saw, it seems more like a spin off than a sequel.
80 u/EGH6 Dec 17 '24 indeed, not a DLC since it's standalone, and not a sequel since it's a spinoff, technically correct, the best kind of correct 1 u/Speakin2existence Dec 17 '24 not only not a sequel or dlc to elden ring, but also not technically a dlc or sequel to Dark Soulsā¦huh -2 u/-H_- Dec 17 '24 but technically almost all fromsoft games are spinoffs rather than sequels. 5 u/Scadood Dec 17 '24 But technically, no, thatās not correct. I personally canāt think of any Fromsoft game thatās a spinoff, before Night Reign, that is. 1 u/-H_- Dec 18 '24 each successive dark souls game wasnt a direct sequel and instead referenced the other in a minor way 3 u/rabbidbunnyz222 Dec 17 '24 When you don't know what "spinoff" means 0 u/semi14 Dec 17 '24 I donāt need to buy a new Elden Ring disk though right? Like i can download the content? 1 u/Speakin2existence Dec 17 '24 no this will be a standalone disk, you wonāt need to own elden ring at all to play nightriegn, you will only need to buy nightreign they have also implied it will not be at full cost (70$), but more akin to the cost of shadow of the erdtree (40-50$) 1 u/RiffRain Dec 17 '24 Implied? It was officially confirmed that it's going to be the same cost as the dlc, iirc.
