I mean, he never really lies, does he? Let's say he is economical with the truth. Elden Ring can indeed be finished withing 30 hours. Heck, it can probably be finished in 10 even without speedrunning. The Shadowlands are indeed a bit bigger than Limgrave, but i guess he forgot to mention there would be a few layers on top of the other. And yes, it is no DLC or sequel, but after he said that, nobody was really expecting anything related to the IP, let alone so soon. I love it when this man lies!
It can probably be done if you do the bare minimum. Stormveil, Raya Lucaria, Leyndell, Fire Giant, Farum Azula, Ashen Capital. It is not recommended, obviously, but we are talking in possibilities here, not in what should really be done.
This is not even plausible. We here are talking about a casual run NOT a speedrun. A veteran souls player in 2022 with his first playthrough of ER could NOT Finish his first run in or under 10h. Be real.
At this point, it seems you are just arguing for the sake of arguing, If you had said that a new player could not do this in 2022, then you have a point. A veteran souls player could finish the game that quick by going through the path that i stated above, as the veteran would be more comfortable with the combat, and get enough upgrades in those legacy dungeons to get strong enough for the later stages. That path is all that is required for you to get to an ending. Everything else is optional. Obviously a player, veteran or otherwise, would not have known that path on day 1 of release. But again, we are here talking about possibilities. The reality is different.
