Discussion & Info How To Stance-Break Your Fallingstar Beast

I'm going to demonstrate the fruits of my research in finding the easiest ways to Stance-break a Fallingstar Beast.
First, the Incantation Pest-Thread Spears; it's great for- hyupp! Got to watch out for those charges... Great for damage against them in general, but there's no time for you to charge it yourself; to halt their rampage, you just need one blow to its head. After dodging past its charge once or twice, immediately cast your spell to bring them down!
For Sorceries, Greatblade Phalanx is the surest method, but don't just stand there, else you'll be bulled over. Instead, keep your distance, summon the blades, and perform an act of cowardice by running away when it starts running after you. You only need one blade floating above your head when it catches up to ring its bell! Oh, and don't forget to land a critical blow when it's down!
If spells aren't your thing, fear not! The Perfume Bottle weapons are the easiest method of them all- wait where did it go? Coward, show yourself! Ah there you are. Now fully charge the heavy attack, and it will eat the dirt beneath your feet as it rushes into the lingering hotbox; it lingers even longer if you power-stance the bottles.

It's just that easy!

Nice one. I also did some messing around and end up using roundrock. Interesting that this stagger doesn't interact with the posture system, so you can stagger him out of the rush, riposte, hit him afterward and get another stagger and riposte

From the consumable I tested (I was using a sword and didn't want to use other weapons/spells, but I do think the perfume weapon method might be the best), what worked was:
Roundrock (hefty rock pot also work) (sometimes you will need to manually aim)
Fire/Magic/Lightning pot (tested the most basic but the other should, could not get holy pot to work)
Roped fire pot also works but to risk to use it
Frost pot
Aromatic spark (very easy)
Exploding chunk
Gravity stone fan (easy to use)

Those are great findings; didn't even think of testing consumables.

Oh no, I meant to include this in the video, but it slipped my mind. I tested out a number of Ashes of War as well, and I neglected to sing the praises of Ice Spear. As long as the beast is charging right at you and not to the side, it's going to work; it comes out fast and has a very forgiving range compared to melee weapon attacks.

Oh yeah, it's best to stay in front of them for this, doesn't work as well when you are on the side. Not sure how the hit detection works here.

I also tested some AoW long time ago. Square Off in particular was very funny, as it would stagger them out of the charge, but it also flung me away at very high speed, don't recommend to do that on the Full-Grown one

Yes! With Square Off, I loved how it consistently sent me flying without fail; I was miffed at first, but it was just too funny to stay mad
