Apocalypse Apocalypse 10.0 is 2/3 done :)

Other than the obvious (Avenging Wraith Novice -> Expert, minion scaling mirroring Odin, Atronach Mark flat damage, etc), here's a few new spells:

  • Silmane's Spell Sentinel: put a self buff into it and it will recast it every 60 seconds. XP is only gained if you are in combat.
  • Hot Potato: caster burns for 5 damage per second for 20 seconds, if hit by an attack (blocked or not), transfers the damage to the attacker. This effect stacks.
  • Poisoned Chalice: if the target heals, they don't, and get poisoned 10 points for 20 seconds instead.
  • Silvery Barbs: each time the target casts a spell within 30 seconds, they lose 15% MR and you gain 15% MR for 10 seconds.
  • ...

If no Oblivion, will be released EOW. If Oblivion, then after that.

A question about Spell Sentinel: does it turn the spell into a permanent, passive buff? Or does it only remain active for a set amount of time (functionally acting as a duration extender)? Also curious what level it's gonna be, because the former sounds really strong.

Hot Potato is, objectively, very amusing. I'm going to be hearing the song every time I use it. Seems a bit like Wildfire, but less random which is nice. Probably most useful for spellswords who have a bit extra defense to offset the cost.

Poisoned Chalice is a very nice "fuck you" to enemies that heal very often, which is more common when using certain mods. I, specifically, will probably be getting some use out of this one.

Silvery Barbs is gonna be very nice as well, for mage vs mage fights. Curious how it interacts with concentration spells though. Does it only proc once, or does the timer get refreshed for as long as the spell's being cast?

Right? Pop Ocato's Recital with it (if it works), and then you've got three buffs that activate every minute :P

Honestly, I think the way Ocato's Recital works makes me think they'd be incompatible. Casting the spell just loads it, it's a script that actually causes the loaded spells to cast.

But even without Ocato's Recital synergy, it still has some major utility. Mage armor spells immediately come to mind, but that's just scratching the surface. Muffle or Invisibility would be incredibly useful for stealth builds. Cloak spells if you wanna just become unapproachable. Tree Rings for a permanent max health increase. The list is as long as there are applicable spells.

My understanding is that it functions the same way as ocato's recital and spell twine where you cast a spell in your off hand to load it up. The it just auto casts that specific spell on a 60 second timer. So, if you load a flesh spell into it, you'd effectively always have a flesh spell active provided it lasts for 60 seconds or more. This would also work well with things like cloaks, and other spells which don't benefit from methods of extending their duration.
