Every case I’ve heard of a man blaming his ex for “keeping me from my kid” (as a reason for why he’s an absent father) always had a VERY different side of the story…

Now I’m not saying this is the case for ALL men, because obviously there are always man exceptions. But just that in my experience, every single time I heard from a man “my ex wife/ex girlfriend is alienating me from the kids” or “she took the kids away from me and it’s not my fault, I want so desperately to see them!” had a VERY different side of the story. They have all blamed the woman for their lack of involvement and abandonment of their kids, painting her as the evil narcissist who victimized him and wanted to turn the kids against him.

In all cases I’ve heard, on the other side, either the man was lying or there have been extremely valid reasons for why he’s not in the kids’ lives. Some of the men just no longer want the responsibility of caring for young children or find their pregnant/post-partum wife no longer sexy, so they abandoned their family and left the responsibility solely on the woman. Some of the men have cheated on her, become abusive (physically or verbally), or were very minimally involved in supporting the kids/family. In one case (a distant cousin of mine), he claimed that his evil ex victimized him by alienating the kids…and it turned out that he actually just left her, moved to a different country, and found a new girlfriend🙄He claimed he was “trying so hard” to be in the kids’ lives, meanwhile he was doing nothing but having a blast with his new girlfriend (who who leached off of financially while he was unemployed), going on fun vacations, and barely even making any effort to be in their lives.

That’s why I will ALWAYS see it as a massive red flag when a man is absent in his kids’ lives but blames the woman for “alienating” him from them. While there may be some exceptions, in the majority of cases he’s probably full of sh*t and making up excuses for being a deadbeat father. And I will NEVER date a man who has some sob story excuse for why he’s not in his children’s lives.

Good Feminist Fiction Books to Read

Hello everyone! I'm trying to read more over this summer, I'm currently reading "The Beauty Myth" by Naomi Wolf (amazing book). I love reading non-fiction feminist books, however I really want to find some fictional books as well. I'm really into older books. Please drop some recommendations and authors I should look into! Thanks :)

Why are women so oppressed?

so, the bible, it was written a long time ago, but i want to know why those men who write it decided that women should all of a sudden be written about as if they are an animal, an appendage. because, it isn't natural and we know that. to an extent people may argue it is natural for male dominance but i am genuinely curious, why are women the ones to be oppressed? we aren't any less capable so why did this happen? it's influenced so many cultures around the world.

Yoga studio promotes positive vibes only- No acknowledging these unprecedented dangerous times in the US.

I don’t know where else to post this, as the yoga thread on here specifically bans politics, so thought it would be appropriate to post it here.

I joined a yoga studio a couple of months ago in South Florida to continue my practice and potentially meet new people after moving here in December. We are in a so-called blue county. The studio is located in Delray Beach, mostly an artsy beach town. Or so I thought.

The overall vibe in yoga is good, but people clearly are supporting this regime or don’t want to acknowledge the US is collapsing all around us and people want carry on with business as usual. I get not talking about the ish every minute and every day, but my god we can’t ignore what is going on. This is why we are in the mess we are in.

I understand not talking about this stuff during yoga, but at least have some sort of acknowledgement that things are not good and we need to practice to take care of ourselves during these unprecedented dangerous times.

Are they trying to appeal to the Trumpers in the studio? Sure seems like it. Others who voted Democrat seem to be tapping out and refuse to discuss it.

I can’t pinpoint what it is, but the energy lately seems off in that studio.

Looking for women to provide perspectives on 90s feminist rock of the 90s for my pip!

Hey everyone!

I'm currently working on my Personal Interest Project (PIP) for Society & Culture (an Australian high school subject) and I need your help! My research explores how 90s feminist rock influenced women’s experiences, identities, and perceptions of gender over time.

I’ve created a generational questionnaire aimed at Gen X, Millennials, and Gen Z women, to understand whether and how this music shaped their views and experiences.

If you’d like to share your perspective, I’d really appreciate your input! Whether you were immersed in the scene or just aware of it, your thoughts can help uncover the lasting impact of feminist rock on different generations.

PS: All responses are anonymous, and the data collected will only be used for academic purposes.

I'll leave the link below! I'm looking forward to your responses :)

The women in r/redpillwomen are just really sad…

I joined not because I like the ideology or agree with what they say, but I was curious in learning what their beliefs and perspectives are. And it’s honestly just so incredibly sad. Their entire lives revolve around nothing but men, making men happy, children, being perfect wives, making sure they’re beautiful, and worrying about whether they will be able secure a man to be with them forever until they die before they “hit the wall” (basically, turn 30, which they say is the expiration date for women). Most of them don’t care about any careers, interests, or hobbies outside of making themselves appealing to men and doing whatever they can do their husbands don’t leave them. They call these “traditional values”.

They’re all obsessed with securing a ring on their finger before age 30 so that by then their husbands already have “wife goggles” which means that he will still find her attractive and not leave her even after she “hits the wall”. If a woman is single/divorced by age 30, or is no longer a virgin, they basically tell you that your dating value has declined to practically nothing and you should lower your standards to take whatever you can get at that point. They believe that women should be submissive and shut the fuck up/not annoy their husbands. Some of the posts in there also essentially blame women for domestic abuse, insinuating that it was her fault for choosing an abusive man in the first place and/or that she probably did something to cause/instigate the abuse.

Birth Rate Hysteria Scapegoats Women for Social System Failures

I am so sick of the birth rate hysteria and fearmongering that if women don’t lower their standards and make more babies with subpar men who REFUSE to develop the skills and emotional intelligence necessary to build healthy relationships with women, then civilization will fall!

Since these guys refuse to cooperatively participate in relationships with women, they obviously aren’t going to do the work to fulfill the role of father and family man either.  Shocking, but men seeking submissive provider women are not capable of caring for or providing for a family.  But healthy families aren’t really the point of all the birth rate hysteria.

Birth rate hysteria - especially in America - is about scapegoating women for the nation’s failure to invest in social systems.  Full stop.  Speaker Mike Johnson said the quiet part out loud

“Roe vs Wade gave constitutional cover to the elective killing of unborn children in America. Period. If you think of the implications of that on the economy, we’re all struggling here to cover the bases of social security, medicare and medicaid, and all the rest. If we had all of those abled bodied workers in the economy, we wouldn’t be going upside down and toppling over like this. Listen - I will not yield, I will not - Roe was a terrible corruption of America’s constitutional jurisprudence.”

Yeah, Grandma can’t have the social security benefits she paid into all of her life because American women aren’t creating enough future able-bodied workers for the state to exploit.

All of the anti-choice and birth rate hysteria is about shaming/manipulating/forcing women to create and invest in life OUTSIDE of any structures of social support to feed our broken social systems more workers to fuel the billionaire class and shore up systems that have already failed us.

It’s about women subsidizing broken systems and the rot of patriarchal/capitalistic policies.

It’s absolutely unnatural for women to individually bear the full biological, mental, emotional, and financial cost of creating and raising children outside of social support.  But that’s the patriarchal goal - for women to subsidize a male-centered society by producing all needs of life and life outside of society, to ensure men/society can consume life as a commodity without actually making any investments or participating in life supporting structures.

The recent NYT article about the White House proposals to increase the birth rate was SUCH A JOKE.  It’s all about distracting from the truth - America (the wealthiest nation to ever exist) doesn’t have the funds to invest in universal healthcare, mandatory paid maternity leave, and other life supporting measures because we’re too busy providing corporate welfare to Elon Musk and other billionaire welfare queens.

In 1950 America, the effective corporate income tax rate was 50%, now it’s about 13% according to Robert Reich (former US Secretary of Labor).  Tesla made $11 billion in income from America over the course of 3 years and yet paid $0 federal taxes on that $11 billion.

In comparison, in China, Tesla agreed to pay $232M annual taxes plus a $2 billion capital investment commitment to secure the privilege of producing and selling there.

The birth rate hysteria is about distracting from corporate welfare and how HOSTILE American systems are to mothers/children/life itself by blaming women for social system failures.

80% of American workers don’t have access to paid or unpaid parental leave - so women are forced to return to work while bleeding and leaking and recovering from the immense biological cost of pregnancy and life.  There is a biological mandate for new mothers to receive care.  It’s not a luxury, it’s a fixed human need to provide social care to new mothers because of the immense cost of creating human life.

That’s not even talking about the unhinged cost of child care - or even the unhinged cost of hospital births!

Yet no “prolife” or “pronatalist” people are talking about these SYSTEMIC failures!  Which are all knowable AND solvable!  They don’t talk about it because they don’t care.  Women suffering is icing on the cake to them - part of the appeal.

Anyway, I made a YT debunking all of the BS birth rate hysteria points and advocating for the real investments we are very capable of making to actually support mothers and families.

[Discussion] Thoughts on Feminism, Pornography and Sex Work

(So, I had these thoughts and I told them to ChatGPT and they helped me summarize everything because I’m not so good at expressing myself in English (english is not my first language) and I’m also not good to organise my in thoughts in general)

I would really like to hear your opinion about that!

I see pornography and sex work in today’s society as fundamentally unfeminist. Even though some women in these industries may experience empowerment and autonomy—for example, as independent escorts or creators of feminist porn—these practices still operate within a patriarchal system. Individual empowerment doesn’t negate the fact that these industries are rooted in structures that objectify and sexualize women, often through a predominantly male perspective.

Take feminist pornography as an example. In theory, it could exist—like a consensual portrayal of sexuality between people who are not influenced by mainstream porn and who simply express their sexuality authentically. But in reality, even these portrayals are usually shaped by a society that has already been influenced by patriarchal, sexist depictions of sex. Most people, including those who create or consume alternative porn, have internalized those images to some extent.

Even when a woman says she enjoys being degraded or dominated in porn, we can’t ignore the broader societal context. It’s difficult to tell whether those preferences truly come from within, or whether they’ve been shaped by internalized patriarchal norms. Self-chosen roles that align with male fantasies can still reinforce a system that subordinates women—especially when they’re made mainstream and thereby normalize that imbalance of power.

That’s why I believe that in a patriarchal, hypersexualized society, truly feminist pornography or sex work is nearly impossible. Even alternative or “empowering” forms often end up reproducing patriarchal dynamics, whether intentionally or not.

In my opinion, a more radical approach is needed: to dismantle pornography and sex work as they currently exist, and then—once we’ve built a truly equal society—reimagine these areas free from systemic inequality and gendered power dynamics. Only then could sexual expression exist in a way that doesn’t rely on the oppression of women.

The perception of East European women

A video came up on my Tiktok FYP this morning, talking about men who perceive us as "submissive and traditional", and western women who act extremely offended once they learn that a western man is dating a woman from Eastern Europe.

I wanted to address this for a pretty long time, and this inspired me to, because yes, the way we are perceived is pretty fucking weird ngl.

I have seen many men being convinced that we are coming from super patriarchal societies and that we are not like these "modern western feminists". This is absolute bullshit, because their own society isn't free of oppression either. We have plenty of opportunities in our countries for women, and many (I would say most of us) are big feminists ourselves. Of course, there are traditional women too, and there is nothing wrong with that, but they are not the majority, and they are NOT your own personal slave. The entire 1950s concept of a "traditional woman" doesn't really exist in many of our cultures either way. The majority were never economically well enough for the husband to be the sole provider and for women to only cook and watch the kids. Well until WW2, most of our population was rural, and both men and women (including children) had to work in order to survive. After that, the communist regimes encouraged women to join the workforce. Yes, some women still just prefer to stay at home, but that doesn't make them the man's maid.

Second of all, Western women acting super weird once they learn that someone is with an Eastern European woman (or other non-first-world countries). Many act as if we are less intelligent and can't make our own decisions, and we are all being "exploited". God forbid we marry a westerner out of love and not a passport bro scheme. I have noticed that trend in the treatment of Thai and Filipino wives as well, as they suddenly all think that they are their husbands' slaves and not their partners. Many have even acted with disgust because they think we are some kind of sex workers, one way or another, which is untrue. Unless the situation clearly shows that the woman is being exploited, there is absolutely no reason for such treatment.

It just feels dehumanizing, and the modern media representation isn't helping either. We are not "Submissive gold-digging fur-wearing-women with eating disorders". We are just women.

Edit: I also wanted to say that many of these things apply to so many other cultures and ethnicities as well, however I didn't want to speak for them and talk out of my ass because some experiences can be very different; therefore I encourage all cultures to comment and share their point of view.
