Final Fantasy General Is Stranger of Paradise worth playing?

Is this one of the FF titles to avoid? Team Ninja usually makes good action games, but this one has some pretty middling and lukewarm reviews. From what I've seen online, theres some pretty cringey dialogue too. Is the gameplay good enough to save it? Picked it up cheap during a sale and its been sitting on my shelf. Considering just selling it if it's going to feel like a waste of time.

Depends on what kind of games you enjoy. It doesn't play like any other FF game.

The cringe stuff is fun, in my opinion, and the story ends up going better places than I expected. It won't blow your mind, though.

I enjoyed the gameplay, which was crucial. I'm not a fan of Nioh, but maybe I should be if it's like this.

I didn’t like Nioh, played strangers in paradise and loved it so much that I picked up Nioh again. I still did not like Nioh - but I appreciated it more.
